    Yeah, that's a big one. I had it on for a long time because i though 'it can't use that much' and the thermostat could be programmed so we only had it on when we were in the house.

    I turned it off last June when there was nothing going on heating, and it cut the gas usage in HALF. One would hope that most of that energy still ended up in the house as heat, so it might not have made much difference to the overall total consumption during the coldest part of the year, but still a lot of waste.

    And the worst part is, you can't even tell any difference at the tap
