I've managed a few days ago to finally stop using the central heating... But with the mild sunny spell ending and it forecast to drop at least 5 degrees from Tuesday - it might have to go on again, despite being May :(

After the first 2 weeks of April it looked like we were looking at being over 25% higher for gas usage for the month than last year (which at just over 800 kWh itself was actually very low compared with previous 3 years) but thanks to the sun finally coming out over the last few days and getting some solar gain, then so long as heating doesn't kick in at all this evening, we will now end up almost exactly same usage as last April hoorah.....albeit 40% more expensive 😥.

Unfortunately, looking at the 14 day forecast, I don't think May is going to be a repeat of last year's figure of 230kWh as the heating was off so it was just HW heating...especially if SWMBO gets her way

£40.04 for the Gas, central heating and hot water with a modern combi-boiler, and the hob.
410.8 kWh at 9.748p per kWh.
    (2022 440kWh.)

    £39.57 for the Electricity.
126.6 kWh at 31.248p per kWh.
    (2022 167kWh.)

£119.49 with the standing charges and VAT.
Not as bad as I expected.
The Met Office forecasts 6°C to 14°C for the next 6 days.

My cheap 2 year fix ended yesterday so all my storage heaters are now off. My fleece and footwarmer have now taken over.
