Used around 1200kWh of gas in April.

I personally think its warmer than last April, the last week of April last year was chilly.  (although not enough for heating).

But I guess this depends on where you are in the country.

For reference my gas usage for April ended up being around 175 units, way below my 200 prediction.

1350kw of gas used in April this year. Pretty much exactly the same as last year. 

Rolling year gas usage down to 16,800kwh though which, considering we were using 28,000-30,000 when we first moved in to the house 6 years ago is a huge improvement.

You will save money by disabling the timer and just heating water when you need it.

I am single household, but I also am very vigilant on what I use with gas.

Nice idea but 'er indoors wouldn't be happy if there was no hot water when she went to wash her hair and have a shower !!!

I turn water mode off on boiler console, turn on rare occasions I use hot water still instant hot water ….

Fine if you have a combi - not much use if you have a large HWT
