Yeah as far as I know its 30, one of reasons I switched to GO, hoping things calm down then I have an easy route back.

However there is always a chance Octopus may block signup's, they have done it in the past in periods of turmoil. I remember the waiting list they used to have. I am taking a large % hit on GO, it would annoy me if I am not able to move back when I want to.

The Cosy tariff isnt bad but Octopus continue to restrict it to a narrow set of customers, it would be nice if they did what TE did, and just say they designed it for electric heating, but anyone is welcome to join the tariff.

The waitlist saga was applied to tariffs that were/became financially unattractive to them when prices rose. They later hiked the rates considerably on those tariffs. Whereas Agile tends to become more attractive as prices rise (assuming the £1 cap doesn't kick in too much of the time), so I think that risk is very small.

Given their more ruthless handling of their fixed tariffs this time around, it seems like they are now more inclined to hike rates for new customers rather than block them.

Thats from Octopus website "who is eligible"eleligibl for Cosy:

If you have a heat pump (air or ground source), an electric boiler or electric radiators at your property, you can join Cosy Octopus. If you have another system in your property, get in touch and we'll let you know if you're eligible for the tariff.

So it's literally for everyone.. how could the check if you have electric radiator? :)

Yeah thats a fair point, could just say have a portable electric radiator system. Someone reported to me they had to provide details of their heat pump to OE which is what put me off.

I was on cosy all winter, no Heat pump no storage heaters, just a hairdryer, they don't ask , or they didn't when I joined. Snug was a different though.

My gas usage is so low, zero for hot water, and less than £100 a year for ch (plus the dreaded s/c), that I might get away with claiming that I have electric heating, I do actually have halogen heaters (the proper metal body ones that are wall mounted) which I use for spot heating when necessary in winter (taken from my previous house as I always seem to end up buying properties with ancient boilers that I do not turn on but eventually replace), so I have been tempted a few times to join Cosy but never quite got around to it. I was on Agile until they did not lower the s/c and now can't really be bothered time-shifting to save a small amount of money. The ch costs 70p to heat two rooms for an hour, the halogen on one bar costs 17p for an hour, the latter warmer for me but not the house.

Thats good to know, but still they could just remove the requirement from the terms, better for everyone.

I'm sure you have at least a couple heat pumps in your house - fridge, freezer, dehumidifier? 😁

I see the Cosy option is now six months fixed with a 2p increase in the Cosy rate (where I live) but presumably it will go down in April. Probably would be a 10p per unit saving over my fix as long as I don't use any electric outside of the Cosy rate. Alas no solar or battery or heat pump - yet. Agile rates, today, look to be about twice the Cosy rate, BTW. I can make my coffees and do microwave cooking at the time of the Cosy rate, small fridge on and off all day, TV 7-10pm and laptop/monitor but can run on battery at expensive times.

For me Agile is currently about 40% more expensive during the cosy periods, about the same during the 3 hour peak and 25% cheaper for the remaining 13 hours. That 13 hours makes Cosy problematic for a lot of us - it's in all the wrong places. Also bear in mind that Cosy has an exit fee, and Agile may soon beat Cosy in the afternoon.
