Seems to me that it could be a reasonable return on Agile rates ...

Thanks for that - with the old layout I'd probably have realised that there was already a thread. Just another downside of the revised Forum layout. Looks like I just need to remember to sign out of any saving sessions with them and keep an eye out on how much I'm likely to be getting back. To be honest £25 is better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick - especially as my average electricity cost - including standing charge is around £1 a day ...QrizB said:MikeyPGT said:Has anybody else signed up to the USwitch power hours? Deep seated hatred of Scottish Power and all who sail in her - would love to see Ofgem grow a pair and actually do something about it.1 -
EDF has now a Agile/Tracker hybrid called:
FreePhase Dynamic
How it works?
3 dynamic rates 16-19 most expensive, 23-6 cheapest and average rest of the day.
For example tomorrow as Agile is cheap:
23-6 5.78p
16-19 30p
Rest of the day 16.7p
Capped at 75p/kWh
It's a simplified Agile 😉4 -
But the downside is it requires you to be a customer of EDF…🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Tbh I never contact electricity providers so don't really care.EssexHebridean said:But the downside is it requires you to be a customer of EDF…
Tracker is simple but it's missing the great value rates, Agile.. I overcomplicate it trying to make every penny count and probably waste too much time.
Competition is a great thing!1 -
I looked at their fixed version too, just out of curiosity. It looked probably more expensive than Agile has averaged out (~17p cheap periods, ~22p rest of the day - better than Cosy - and ~40+ peak) but not dreadful. The amber especially is a nice surprise being significantly cheaper than the SVT.Newbie_John said:EDF has now a Agile/Tracker hybrid called:

They're not enticing enough for me, but look a nice compromise for people wanting to save some money without the Agile complexity.1 -
It does look like averaged out Agile values, so at 23-6 you've lost last night 0.5p but the edge values at 23 for example were cheaper.
The best part is actually the peak time, 16-19, Agile averages today to 34p but EDF gives 30p rate, and also the scary upper capping of 75p instead of 100p.

Looks like it’s a real competitor to Agile and Tracker.Newbie_John said:It does look like averaged out Agile values, so at 23-6 you've lost last night 0.5p but the edge values at 23 for example were cheaper.

The lower peak rates and cap more than make up for that and I like the fact that it’s much simpler than rates changing every 30 mins.
Started my switch and will post its progress. Anybody else moved to it?

Not for me. Agile works well, I'd rather have the half hour blocks than 3 blocks, seems more of a tracker competitor then Agile. Then there is the availability of the API, something covered well with Octopus and Home Assistant . ..2

I'll keep an eye on this - another advantage over Agile seems to be that they release tomorrow prices at midday rather than 4pm?tlcgrantham said:
