(electric shower, currently on Cosy but will switch to Agile again tomorrow - the week ahead looks like it should still be marginally cheaper for us).
Thanks, email was there this morning so a few hours in my case. And you guys are switching back and forth on a day by day basis between Cosy and Agile? Just wondering how Octopus keep up with the billing on that?
I'm only switching when I'm fairly certain I'll want to stay on Agile for several days at least. I'm conscious of the 30day period mentioned in T&Cs and while they're not currently enforcing it, I also don't want to feel like I'm taking the mick.
Our Cosy average rate isn't as low as it could theoretically be - the person who showers the most often, showers at 9am rather than in any of the cheap slots. So it turns out mega cheap periods of Agile aren't entirely necessary to still be cheaper for us.
[My prediction that the forthcoming week will work out marginally cheaper for us on Agile is based on looking back at emoncms to see the wind generation vs demand, alongside Octopus Compare results. Cosy and Agile have been vying for some time to be cheapest and there's not been *very* much in it. So if I get it wrong, I'm not too worried - and either way we'll still be paying less than on SVT.]2 -

Hopefully they won't tell me off. I'm interested to see how smoothly they handle the billing.@Spoonie_Turtle O/T, but have you seen any mention of Cosy price increases for April yet?

A quick Google and looking on a couple of social media platforms, the most concrete thing I found was a tweet saying they'd notify at least two weeks in advance of any change. As we're now within that period … could we perhaps see no change? I almost dare not hope.1 -

I actually found this linked from the Cosy quote page: https://octopus.energy/blog/cosy/cosy-rates-april-2025/
We're in Eastern so all three rates noticeably going up weights Agile more in our favour, for various reasons that I wrote out before but then the page reloaded and I lost it all *sigh*1 -

Yesterday was cracking for us - in particular because I don’t work Fridays. 3 loads of washing (one overnight to go out first thing so not the absolute cheapest but what worked best for us), dishwasher ran through in the cheapest daytime slots (and then ran again last night even though technically not quite full - I put both inners from the instant pot in there though and they take up masses of space), MrEH made lunchtime rolls (breadmaker for the dough) and the oven went on late morning so I also assembled two potato bakes and popped those in as well - they take best part of and hour and a half so it was handy to have the cheap slots!Total use from the day is showing at 9.85kWh at a cost of £1.21, and we’re up to date with laundry and clean dishes which is always a win!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡
