The weather is still a bit calm at the moment. Hoping as the weeks go by the wind will get up a bit.

Not a certainty but far to early to consider jumping for me.

I think there are different prices during each season, in winter the difference between day and rate was always bigger.
So I would definitely wait till mid Novemeber when heating becomes a daily norm.

In your case having storage heaters I would honestly risk Tomato Energy - guaranteed 5p at night and 23p during the day - I'm waiting to see which way prices on Agile will go in October, as well see people comments on Tomato thread about their correct billing.

Interesting, I hadn't really taken much interest in Tomato. But you're right, that certainly looks appealing with storage heaters and immersion...

I do mostly wfh in the daytime, but energy usage during that time is usually pretty low, and seems there's a couple of windows to put the washing on during the day on the Intensity tariff. Going to have to get the spreadsheets out...

Saturday lunchtime/afternoon, and Sat night into Sunday morning look like they may be pretty cheap periods on Agile, for those wondering when to charge the car etc.

I joined Agile at the end of August and my average price per kwh worked out at 16p - no solar panels and am at work until after the afternoon/evening peak, so works for me. Saving anywhere between 40p and £1.20 per day against the EDF SVT I'd rolled on to.

    Impressed so far!

Oh the prices tomorrow are a bit of a joke, 5p at 10pm and I was ready for near 0 after 😂

i held my washing back thinking the price would follow for a few hours at least but was let down
got a cheapish few hrs during the night for the washing machine 60c wash so its going to be a heavy usage but 9-9.5p i cant twist

I suspect what price people think "is a joke" varies wildly.

My thinking is the standard variable rate is 25.21p kwh from 1st October for our region.

If we can see out winter at around 15p kwh average that's fine by me. 10p discount per kwh

Normally the 22:30 price is a indicator what follows the next day - they tend to be cheaper afterwards. But not yesterday :).

For me Agile was the best tariff on the market, but now with tomato competition I need to compare it to guaranteed 5p between 1-6am.. and 23p at 16-19 😅
Agile definitely taught me a lot about shifting consumption which I think I could easily move a lot to that night period.

Totally agree. So far this year, including last winter, my average is also around 15p kWh . Even 5p discount = £200 off the annual Electricity bill far more than people are hoping to save juggling various fixes on offer.
