Normally the 22:30 price is a indicator what follows the next day - they tend to be cheaper afterwards. But not yesterday :).
I tend to look at the forecasted wind speed graph on Octopus watch.  It isn't the most detailed, but it was clear from it that the wind speed forecasted was coming down so it made sense that the prices were higher than the 22:30 slot.

  • bit pricey tomorrow

    Yes, particularly the 18:30 slot.

I mostly cook at 20:30, these days, as it's generally the cheapest evening slot, at a suitable eating time.
  • My rate for the June to September period was 9.34p overall and 9.17p for September. The real test will be October and November if I need to charge the car at higher rates but thus far I've been able to do it very cheaply or negatively.

With solar panels I also have to juggle that contribution: fortunately I've plenty of socks and towels and I batch bake when the sun is shining!

Alright, that's my end of the journey with Agile -> jumped ships to Tomato Lifestyle.

Agile served me really well for the past year, saved £££, but after reviewing past Agile prices for 12 months:
    https://agileprices.co.uk/?tariff=AGILE-FLEX-22-11-25&fromdate=20230131

    I really look forward to:
-guaranteed 0-6am at 5p kWh for 12 months (so I can shift all thngs there)
-guaranteed 16-19 at 23p for 12 months (so I can watch at ease my family running heating, ovens at 6pm  :D)

    Will miss:
    -negative price craze

All the best! And many strong winds this winter.

Hope all goes well. Are you on the Lifestyle Tarrif?.

  • The reason I asked is isn’t 5hrs from 1:00am - 6.00am at 5p and 9:30am - 11:30am + 8:30pm - 10:30pm at 15p and the rest at 23p?

Yeah this is the odd thing about it, on the right hand side you have few buttons to customize your tarriff - when you work from home, do you have solar, EV etc.

And there are a few options, the default one if:
    1-5am 5.56p
    9:30-11:30 14.5p
    20:30-22:30 14.5p

But selecting EV or Battery cahnges the hours and prices to:
    0-6am 5p
    9:30-11:30 13.7p
    22:00-0:00 13.7p

Some other variations were also avialble but in my opinion not as usefull.

And yeah, I've switched with a date in the future - so don't know anymore than that - just prepared my self to deal with messy start up (in worst case they collapse I'll be back).

Very helpful thanks. I’ve no EV or battery so it’s not as good for me

It doesn't asks you what kind, it doesn't require any proofs.
And tbh staying as honest as we can - we all have betteries at home
Not to mention my 3 years old child's EV..

So it comes down to choice - what's better for you 20:30-22:30 or 22:00-0:00.
