Bad week for Agile so far, not looking too good next few days either.

Fellow Agile survivors - is it me or is this week one of the most horrific on record?

Well no, it hasn't capped out £1 a unit for a few hours - which it has in the past…

I've never been on Agile, but, haven't there been occasions in the past when multiple slots hit the 100p/kWh cap?

But, yeah, in a generally expensive year (at least since late February), this week hasn't been great, with worse to come tomorrow* - predictor sites seem to show Saturday as potentially good, though?

*I'm on EDF's Freepahse Dynamic, which today is 32.92/32.38/45.53, while tomorrow is 30.83/37.26/52.78, against SVT for me of 26.42pkWh.

I can cope with peaky peaks - what's getting me down at the moment is the lack of troughs. It's difficult to shift if the lowest priced half hour of the day is still over SVT and the agile SC is more than 10p over the SVT equivalent …

Yep, they didn't need to announce that world gas prices had hit a peak, we're living it (nearly) every day. I reckon the next SVT will be over 30p.

Dynamic tariffs work well when the prices are trending downward or relatively stable.

When they are trending upwards, well, hopefully those still on Agile have a long term plan because winter will almost certainly be horrendous.

Indeed… load shifting simply doesn’t work with no troughs to shift to, and there’s only so long I can put off the laundry!

Over the last 30 days I’ve averaged 19.7p, but only thanks to careful planning and hardcore use of the handful of -ve hours… it’s feeling like a lot of effort everyday for a few hundred pounds a year saving.

If prices are forecast to rocket I may switch to GO and invest in one of the new 5kw batteries just coming to market.

And negative tomorrow.. thats what I expected for Agile for the next months with all that uncertainty around gas prices due to war →a lot of negatives and a lot of high prices (4/12 days in September were negative).

    But then high on Sunday..
