Interesting to see the prices when the weather is static for some time:
    14p off peak
    20-25p morning peak
    30-35p eveing peak

    Same for days
Yes, if the weather is stable, and demand is stable then pricing should also be fairly consistent.

All about the monthly and yearly figures. Happy with 12p kwh for September so far and haven't been around as much to make sure maximising savings.

Finally got the immersion heaters wired up on my thermal store and wrote the Home Assistant automations to heat the store on electric when it's cheaper than gas as well as turn every rad on and the heating when agile price is negative.

Typical now there is no wind so can't test them fully and take advantage of it.

  • Could anyone please advise what their standing charge is? I'm SW region and wanting to get a guideline of Agile SC as Octopus won't specify for a quote - says it's variable, but between what kind of range?  20 - 40p, 40 - 60, 60 - 70p? Thanks
  • It's all online:
    https://octopus.energy/tariffs/

    <40p is London
    >60p is Wales
    Then majority lands somewhere between.

Saw that one coming and tested my automations for heating the thermal store on Electric and turning all rads on for an hour earlier. Cost me about a quid but gives me confidence to let it run itself now.

Should wake to a nice warm house and not need to put the heating on tomorrow hopefully.
