  • Those Heinz tinned puddings. I think they might have changed to plastic pots, though I swear I've spotted the tins in corner shops (where tinned goods have the prices featured on the tins, unlike the supermarket versions).

    I seem to remember my mother used to pierce two holes in the top of the tin with a can opener and heat the pudding in a pan of simmering water - long before microwaves were about.

    Havent had a treacle sponge pud for several years, but still sad to hear they are no longer available. I really fancy one now!

    Sponge pudding is so quick and easy to make in the microwave. Serve with a dollop of jam, marmalade, or syrup, and custard.

    It takes a special person to make sponge pudding, microwave or not  :).

    I can do curry but that's about it and I learnt that from the back of a Vesta packet  :p

    Vimto: our local Co-op stores (Lincolnshire) stock it, as does B & M.

    Come on..... sponge pudding in microwave is very easy
    You just need  containers- such as teacups or ramekins

    Holland and Barrett have molasses, free click and collect if there is none in store.
    Asda has black treacle.

    Never had a problem with treacle or molasses.
