We buy ox kidney at our local Asian shop. But we still have to buy a whole kidney, which is far too much for one S&K pudding so we put the rest of it in the freezer.

In similar vein, the packs of pig’s or lamb’s kidney in the supermarket are far too big for two people but we can buy it in any (small) quantity we want in the local Waitrose. Same for chicken livers/ pig’s/ lamb’s liver.

    would've . . . could've . . . should've . . .

There's definitely no 'a' in 'definitely'.
  • I used to love Creamola rice pudding but can't find it anywhere. I've now read that is no longer made. Thought i'd just try here before I give up the search.

I am finding it harder to get all sorts of things:

Engevita nutritional yeast flakes with Vitamin B12 - none in ASDA, Morrisons, Sainsbury's. Last resort is Holland & Barrett
Kerrygold - Morrisons doesn't stock it in smaller stores they say

ETA Waitrose has Kerrygold on offer and supposedly has Engevita too.

Creamola was just a ground rice pudding, which is easy to replicate. Have a look here https://www.easytoswallow.co.uk/cremola.html

King Oscar sardines. Originally Norwegian then Polish, John West launched King Oscar in the UK in 2020. It has small whole sardines in round tins, which are lovely. Can't find any in store at Sainsbury's or online at ASDA, Waitrose or  Sainsbury's. Supposedly Tesco has them but husband didn't find in store

Engevita was in stock at Tesco this week, also available at Grapetree if you have one locally or Online if you can make a delivery worthwhile (Free is  £35 spend).    Grapetree also do their own yeast flakes

    https://www.grapetree.co.uk/yeast-flakes-with-vitamin-b12-250g

Slightly different formulation - but £6 for 250g rather than £4 for 100g so MSE

Just because a supermarket website shows a product, it doesn't mean that the product is stocked in a nearby branch. Or it may be stocked if on offer and then disappear.

I managed to get some Engevita in Waitrose but will investigate Grapetree.

Very true although unlikely if 3 or 4 supermarkets have something showing online that it would be totally unavailable in every one in one area. Amazon usually have things too that certainly are not area specific unless of course it’s Amazon fresh or Morrisons.
