They are more like pancakes (soft, flat, foldable) than biscuits.Brie said:

They have yeast in and are cooked on a griddle or similar, not baked in the oven. They are sometimes eaten with a fried breakfast or can be filled like a tortilla,Brie said:

Co-incidentally, given your user name, my favourite filling is Brie and Cranberry sauce..3 -
Just as Gale says - not a cracker or biscuit, but like a sturdy oaty pancake. I lived in the Peak District for a few years and they're everywhere there - became hooked!GaleSF63 said:

I used to find them occasionally in Tesco or Sainsbury here in Manchester, but no luck for months 1 -
@LemonadeBudget, There's a recipe here that looks easy enough. I keep meaning to try it - I even got as far as buying yeast for it....

No personal experience of this particular company (as yet - I'm tempted), but you can order either oatcakes or the mix to make them yourself online here and get them posted to you.LemonadeBudget said:Really struggling to find either Staffordshire or Derbyshire Oatcakes locally. Staffordshire Oatcakes | Order Oatcakes and Oatcake Mix online | Stoke-on-Trent
I think there are also other Stoke-on-Trent oatcake shops that do mail order.1 -
All this talk about Staffordshire/Derbyshire oatcakes - I was tempted and have just received a delivery from the company @p00hsticks named! Can't update on taste or quality yet; what I can say is that although they have a very short shelf life - 2 days (which is clear on the website) they can go in the freezer, and the packets of mix have a best before date of 29th Feb 2024.p00hsticks said:
