Morison’s, but it has gone up in price a lot recently.Teapot55 said:Wholemeal flour in 500g bags is another one. Occasionally we make chappatis to go with homemade curry. Wholemeal flour doesn’t keep as well as white flour. A 500g bag (1lb in old money) is plenty big enough. Used to be able to get it in Waitrose. Tried the local asian supermarkets: only giant bags available. Help! Anyone?
You can freeze flour. Friends in Australia store flour in the freezer because of the heat and humidity there.2 -

@YoungBlueEyes , @Rodders53 , @Katiehound ...
... I did phone them (Cussons) about the talc about 2 years ago and they said that they had discontinued it after reviewing the products, however they said they would keep it in their reviews hearing my story

Wow, so someone's got a hell of a stash in their warehouse somewhere then ha haa!
Himself's used it up, so the tin's gone now. I can't remember if it had one of those labels they stick on the back for the English ingredients when they've bought 'foreign' stock."One has to free oneself from the illusion that international climate change policy is environmental policy. Instead, climate change policy is about how we redistribute de facto the world's wealth." - Ottmar Edenhofer, IPCC economist, interviewed at COP160 -
Chappati flour is different to wholemeal, and will hands-down give you a much better result. If you have an Asian friend that buys in bulk (eg 10 or 20kg sacks), itis worth asking them for a suitable quantity. You'll see the difference immediately.Teapot55 said:Wholemeal flour in 500g bags is another one. Occasionally we make chappatis to go with homemade curry. Thanks, @Rosa_Damascena. I did wonder if chapatti flour was different. I could well follow your suggestion as we’re on good friendly chat terms with a few local neighbours. At the very least I could ask them where they get theirs.

La Doria ratatouille or any canned ratatouille really, but especially if made in France. I suspect that when peppers are scarce, people buy up cans of ratatouille. Couldn't get any in Sainsbury's tho husband called in three times after work. The shortages aren't caused by bad weather in Spain. Murcia has so many greenhouses that they can be seen from space !

Granulated Sweetener (own brand) has completely disappeared from Asda, Tesco and Morrison shelves. I have been checking for weeks.
Having to buy Candarel for my diabetic OH which is considerably more expensive.0 -
I have stacks of these sachets, no idea what to do with them. Will probably need to go on Olio.thriftytracey said:Granulated Sweetener (own brand) has completely disappeared from Asda, Tesco and Morrison shelves. I have been checking for weeks.
