One of my pet hates is the tipping culture that exists for food delivery.

I don't tip the postman nor the amazon driver. Why should I tip my food delivery?

I find it astonsishing the way they sometimes put the bag on trh ground, lift the food out and present it to you as if they are doing you a faviour!

could you ask your EA to get in touch with buyer for an update possibly SYA?

I know it’s often repeated but these things do take time (annoyingly!)

Thanks Arrietty and organ grinder. I hate feeling I have to tip food deliveries when I have already been charged delivery.

Suze, we don’t want to appear desperate to the buyer. (Even though we are!!). I’ve looked back on my diary 31 October 2022 and dad was arranging quotes for work on my house. The tradesmen quotes are dated 9 November and 10 November, so as it’s only been just over 7 days since this buyer said he would get quotes perhaps we should give him a bit longer before asking for an update. 🫤

I have had loads of trouble trying to get quotes from trades in the past, so it's probably worth giving it a little longer.

Sya, edit: why is the progression of the sale dependant on the buyer getting quotes?

This made me chuckle because I did tip my Evry delivery driver at Christmas because he worked very hard over the last 2 years delivering all my parcels when I was buying any and everything regularly😂 I know Evry have a terrible reputation but Elvis is an absolute legend and was here pretty much daily.

I haven't had a food delivery in years but used to always tip them a couple of pounds cash pre pandemic.

When eating out whenever I ask who gets the money I'm told it goes to the business and is then divided up between all the staff. I very much doubt it's done equally and as my friend say " I don't get tipped for doing my job so why I should tip other people for doing theirs " - she's a tough cookie 🤣

A day of ups and downs. Looked after little lad for my niece while she had an appointment.

Estate agent reported back today & no reduction being requested & buyer who said he is ready to go ahead. Told solicitor. We walked down to my friends & I had a cuppa while he played with her grandchildren’s toys. Then message from our solicitor that buyers solicitors have been told the buyer has a further query 😡

Am trying not to worry 🫤

Sya. Queries are part of the process. Try to relax and let it proceed at it's natural pace. Hard i know , but you can't manifest it into a conclusion and it appears to be moving along at a normal pace. Imagine the situation was reversed and you were buying. Questions are normal and you can treat it as such.

    Hey SYA 🥰

Agree with Tresinia - house purchase is for most the biggest financial commitment so it’s understandable if there are queries. It does sound very normal.

Try not to hang your heart on this process. We have lost buyers in the past (not that that is what your situation sounds like at all) and it’s not the end - frustrating and a pain in the bum yes - but there is always another buyer out there if things come to the worst.

Message from EA sounds positive - if your buyer was making uncertain noises am sure the EA would have communicated that to you.

I think solicitors make up the questions so that they are seen to be doing their jobs & to bang up their fees. They asked questions about my mother's house when we all knew that they were going to rip it all out before they even moved in.
