    stress levels are easing perhaps?

I wish 😉 I am trying not to moan too much as no one wants to hear it, but waiting for medical test results was never my strong point, plus waiting for something from buyer and trying to convince my sister we may have to drop the price plus more from nxt door 🤯 all in hands of solicitor but still…

You are right about the weeding KK 😆 so boring. Quick question… if I want to put bark on my border to keep down weeds should I put membrane on first?

Aquafit yesterday then friends for cuppa and she had bought cake again 🫣🍩 Thick fog and cold here this morning. Will start sorting stuff from the cupboard of doom. Have a good weekend everyone

hey SYA - sorry to hear of the ongoing stress and everything crossed for swift positive resolution on all fronts xx

re membrane - we went down the membrane w chipped bark on top and ended up losing some large plants - even though the membrane says its water permeable etc - I think possibly plants might struggle regardless if their roots are under a membrane.

BUT - it is a good solution if you need to cover an area that doesn’t have any/many plants.

Hope you have a lovely weekend - will be joining you in spirit in the garden any minute now! Xx

Great result on the blood sugar. Hope all the stress reduces soon.

Could you maybe put cardboard under the bark to help with the weed suppression?

Thanks Suze and jwil I will have a think about the bark. Garden planning still in progress.

I have been struggling with anxiety overwhelm with the washing machine situation. Mostly unknown tradesmen sets it off. I waited in all day Sunday and they finally arrived at 8pm and announced that I needed the stoptap under the sink replumbing and said the new waste water pipe wouldn’t fit. I was exhausted at this point and couldn’t take it all in

So I was left with the new washing machine in the middle of the dining room and the old machine still in situ and still plumbed in. My bil came to the rescue last night making a 4 hour round trip with a plumber friend & lots of parts to find there was nothing wrong with the plumbing and they had it all sorted in half an hour. They refused to take any payment or petrol money. The old machine is now outside hopefully the rag & bone man will take it.

They did a test and all worked fine so I will be doing some washing today. 😊 The new machine is so quiet! I will also be doing a tip run with the stuff from the cupboard of doom. Also need to get on to the washing machine supplier for a refund of the recycling fee £25. I was going to go to aquafit today but I feel really tired and I realised at 9pm last night that my swimsuit and towel are still wet in my car boot since Friday 🫤 so they will get washed today.

oh SYA - my heart was in my mouth reading that bless you. Sounds like you had a right cowboy turn up with that new washing machine. No wonder you have anxiety with that!

But praise be for your wonderful BiL and plumber friend 🙌🏼 absolutely amazing and it shows how much you are so deservedly loved. 🥰

If I were you I would be seeking more than the refund of the recycle fee you paid. At very least a formal complaint.

That is dreadful service! The whole point is to make the process easy for you not more stressful …

It sounds to me like installer got behind somewhere in his day, then couldn't be @rased to do the job and so came up with some BS to get him off the hook. 🙄

If you do decide to make a complaint, I would ask BiL's plumber for a statement that there were no issues with the stop tap or the installation and how long it took him to actually do that job - just a screen shot of a WhatsApp message from him would cover it.

I'm not surprised you are tired after all that nonsense. Enjoy a quiet day with your lovely quiet washing machine 😊

So sorry to read of your horrible experience with plumber.

I feel the same anxiety about having tradespeople in; there's so often chaos, mis-communcation and mess which is very alien to those of us who live quiet ordered lives!

Sya, glad you got your wm sorted it must be a relief. I've found these national companies promise the world then deliver squat due to paying rubbish money so they get half a%£@d people working for them. Anyway it's done now

Thanks Suze, KK, Arrietty and Tresinia

I phoned the washing machine company & asked for my £25 refund. Rag & bone man took the old machine at 8am. I did tell them how disappointed I was in the service and she wasn’t interested and said they would pass it on to the relevant department. I don’t hold out much hope. I should have complained via email but not sure I will bother now.

Went out for lunch yesterday with my friend and ordered jacket potato with chilli & cheese & salad. It took ages to arrive & had about a tablespoon of chilli and a sprinkle of cheese. When I queried the small amount of chilli I was told that was how it comes! For £9.75 I won’t be eating there again.

Waiting in for a parcel delivery this morning. Still no news from the buyer. How long should we leave it waiting for him to get quotes for some work?
