Give yourself a break about the overdraft, you had other things on your mind.  If you are talking value for probate, then unless there are definiitely antiques the norm is £500, although I am sure jewellery is different

That it isn't always enough, to be forgiven by others.
Sometimes, you have to learn to forgive yourself.

Today is a gift. That's why it is called the present.

happiness isn't achieved by getting extra things,
but by getting rid of the things that make you unhappy

Agree with @doingitanyway, about being impressed with your posts @Skint_yet_Again. The granular level detail which you generously share with us is very inspiring and it's clear from your followers that I, and they,  are very invested in your journey on which you allow us to be a part of. Am so pleased and comforted that you have your family and friends by your side, they sound wonderful, all of them.  Priceless gifts x

make up spare bed for sister to stay
    ✅Hoover kitchen/ diner
    ✅Mop floors
    ✅Clean bathroom
    Mop bathroom floor
Clear and organise the cupboard under the stairs where everything was shoved out of the way 🤦‍♀️ (Can’t bear this and can’t get to the freezer)
    Cut dads grass &
    ✅weed / spray weeds

Thank you all for your lovely kind comments, support and suggestions. 💕

I’m not aware of a “norm” for contents for probate and no figure is mentioned on gov website, solicitor websites or cit advice etc websites so we will plod on. It won’t take long & then we will get jewellery valued.

So I got the washing out & it has dried although it’s been grey most of the day. Had a snooze this morning then did a bit more and slept for 2 hours after lunch 😴

Got some cubed beef out of dad’s freezer and brought it home to defrost. Popped to asd@ and got carrots, swede, parsnips, coleslaw, strawberries and a Thai red curry for dinner £8.15. I will make stew in the slow cooker tomorrow with onions from dad’s allotment.

I have been doing lots of reminiscing with my sister. It’s been quite a journey. I still get quite tearful and emotional but we support each other

When my beloved relative died I wouldn't have been without my sister.
Even a few years on, she is the only one who 'gets it' and lets me talk about the beloved relative whenever I want. With other people there is always the feeling that I 'should be getting it over it by now'
We are closer as a result of our shared bereavement. I hope you and your sister will be too.

Please read some threads on here about probate etc.  Remember that what something is valued at for insurance is rarely what it can be sold for, which is what probate is really about.  If you and your sister are the sole beneficiaries I suggest you have a serious chat about realistic values.  Are you the executors too, that speeds things up.

Thanks badmemory there are 3 executors and one is in the process of renouncing. My sister and I have discussed realistic values. We are not using insurance values. I did my mums probate so we are working from the lists I did then and the total was less than £1000 for her share. Some items have changed but I’ve looked at several pages on the death, funeral and probate board and don’t see anything relevant. It is hard though when you have items that are priceless to you but only £2-£3 on bay of E
