  • Does your regular saver pay interest monthly? When I have had regular savers in the past  I have usually had to wait until the year end.

Still waiting for my credit card statement to sort out savings pots. I bought a few birthday cards for my stash on offer 3 for 2 & a Father’s Day card yesterday £4.49 which will be from Xmas / birthday pot. After aquafit I went to aldee and bought chicken, veg, fruit, butter, tea bags, eggs, nuts, cheese, 70% choc and a pasta pot for the homeless man outside. Total spend £33.50. Called off for petrol on the way home £10.

It has brightened up this afternoon and the sun is shining. My friend has been round for a cuppa and we are going for lunch at a nearby pub tomorrow so I will rearrange the tip run with DF. Money will come from entertainment pot.

Sya I wanted to say how shocking it was about your prescription being made incorrectly, but nothing surprises me these days.  I personally know of 2 other people this happened  to.  How can this happen so much with all the tech and modern tests they use!  Really good to be getting 5.5% on £5k

Tresinia this is the second time this has happened see 27/8/2019 Page 142 of my previous diary… “Have had problems with new glasses, took them to speksavers and it turns out nothing wrong with the glasses, speksavers gave me the wrong prescription ... For both sets ! They retested my eyes and are putting free lenses in my new frames. What a palaver. Would still buy online again just hope next time the prescription is correct !”

So I’m not surprised it has happened just didn’t expect it with different stores a couple of hundred miles & a couple of years apart!

SYA - that is shocking service from your optician!

My OH went to a local optician for his free eye test he gets with work and they had him down as a chap by similar name who lives 15 miles from us.  completely different prescription etc!

you have me wondering about my VDU glasses I got a couple months ago - haven’t been happy with them at all. Going to pop in at the weekend.
