Thanks Doris, dia & Suze 😘 I think you are right Suze it’s like homesickness, probably with a good dose of rose tinted glasses, but I do have a good life here so I just try to keep it to myself and the melancholy will pass again for a while.Off to specs shop today for eye retest. Will pick up some fruit and veg on the way home. Aquafit tomorrow and seeing my friend in the afternoon. Trip to the tip on Wednesday with bits of underlay and carpet etc. Hopefully see my niece and little ‘un this week 😍0% credit card £1360 & 0% Car Loan £7500 ~ paid in full JAN 2020 = NOW DEBT FREE 🤗

Sya, my son lives a long way away too. They have 2 little ones. I visit often but I go by train. I can't do the motorway thing or I might go more often. Sounds a nice week you have planned3

Thanks Tresinia ☺️ I don’t know if there will be grandchildren but I am nanna to 2 labradors 😁
I don’t mind the drive but don’t get to visit as often as I would like due to their jobs. Fingers crossed I get to visit in the summer.I am back from my eye retest and they have given me a prescription that is too strong and wrong astigmatism 🙄 so new glasses / lenses in around a week. Hopefully they will be better.Off to the tip this afternoon with DF. Rain is forecast for tomorrow so I will pop to aldee after aquafit for a few things.0% credit card £1360 & 0% Car Loan £7500 ~ paid in full JAN 2020 = NOW DEBT FREE 🤗

Perhaps time for honest chat with son about how you miss him. You may well find he feels the same. Visits can work both ways. Even with work time can usually be found. Life is to short to keep quiet about the things that are really important to you.Saving To Keep Ahead Of The Game — MoneySavingExpert Forum

Hope you're feeling better soon SYA, don't feel you need to keep it to yourself though.
Maybe a chat with your fabulous DF? After all, I presume he went through similar when you moved away?
Maybe a weekly/ fortnightly video call with DS would help? I know it's not the same but technology has given us some amazing advantages and it might help you feel like the distance is closer.3 -
It isn't the same I know, but although I love where I live and know it was the right decision, I really miss my family. The feeling comes and goes but it is there.
I need to get my eyes sorted. I can feel I need glasses. I assumed they got the lenses 'right' from the prescription. Sounds a bit faffy? Hope you get sorted soonIf you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them
