He says that the digital from Mr T will be a memory card or stick - probably best to ask when you are in store.  I think our local M@x Spi@lamb does it too x

Thanks Suze and your OH too 😊

I think it’s that company in mr T. I have loads of stuff on CD-R and floppy disk too but no way of watching them now so thought I may have to destroy them but DS said you can buy cd readers & floppy disk readers. Didn’t really have time to discuss it so hopefully next time

  • Another solution could be to treat yourself to an all in one PC and an external DVD/CD drive. You could then perhaps copy footage from the DVDs /CDs  to the PC where they would be safe. The total cost would be a few hundred but you could treat yourself! The  all in one machines are pretty good value too.

  • Thoroughly well organised finances ! So much more interesting and useful when people use real figures. It helps others make realistic financial decisions. It also encourages those on low income incomes to realise that you can have a successful and happy life without huge sums of money.

Thanks sya for posting your latest financial update. Agree 💯  with ordinary_yet_unique that it undoubtedly inspires others to know what  is possible on a fixed income.  Also to realise the fact that a lump sum can generate  such a good amount of money in interest over a year or two. It's a very welcome additional income if you are living on a budget and have one off expenses to cover.  The interest rates have been good over the last few years though.  Before then, even a large lump sum would give very little, so lucky timing is, well, lucky!😁

Thanks Oy U, Tresinia and Suze 😊

To be honest I have no clue Suze 😂 Do you just plug them into a laptop or do you need software? My old laptop has windows 7 😳😂

Watched 2 more camcorder tapes this afternoon. 2 more to go. May just get 1 or 2 of the best ones copied to dvd. I have a dvd player.

Went to my friends for cuppa and chat. We are going shopping and for lunch next week in Retford.

Hi SYA - if you buy an external floppy disk or cd rom it should just plug into your usb port on your laptop -

I’ve taken dictation on that hope I got it right 😂😂

Yes external drives just plug in and are visible automatically.

Once done I would ensure they are backed up.
