Your gas and electricity use is really good! I'm another who doesn't sleep with heating on.
I'm hoping now I have an air fryer my electricity bill goes down.

Aquafit was a little cool this morning but a good workout.

Called into asd@ and got a hot cooked chicken. Also picked up 2 bags carrots, 2 bags parsnips, 1 bag potatoes, 2 broccoli and 1 swede. 8p each. I will make some spicy parsnip and carrot soup, swede and carrot mash. Some veg & potatoes will be cooked on Sunday with half price lamb joint for dinner with DF. He can have the rest of the potatoes. The rest of the broccoli will be cooked and frozen. Also got 2 packs of liver half price 56p and 68p. Will have liver and onions for dinner & freeze the rest.

Am going to my friends for a cuppa this afternoon and will take her to pick up her car from garage after it’s mot.

@Skint_yet_Again do you eat much fish? You rarely seem to mention buying fish. Obviously you like your meat as you seem to buy quite a lot of it and eat it daily. However, you do eat lots of vegetables to counter balance it lol.

Personally I try to eat a Mediterranean diet  and eat plenty of fruit. Meat, when eaten, tends to be chicken or pork. When eating out I usually have vegetarian dishes.

I am quite a plain eater. I never have food with spices or peppers. I will eat rice with things like fish. I also never add salt to food.

I will eat some Italian dishes but never have Chinese food or Indian food as I dislike both.

I can drive family mad with my preferences lol. I don't care lol.
    Just my thoughts!

No I am not a big fan of fish Lord M, but I do eat tinned tuna, white fish and tinned mackerel/ sardines/ pilchards at least once a week. I rarely eat lamb, only when it’s on offer (mainly Christmas/ Easter) as it’s too expensive. I eat lots of chicken, some pork and also goose (minced breast which I get free). I have chickpeas and some mixed beans plus 5 a day of which 2 are fruit & 3 veg. I enjoy Chinese and Indian food and sometimes make curries & stir fry & tandoori chicken. I like spicy food but not too hot 🥵 I don’t eat lots of carbs, rarely eat potatoes, no pasta/rice. I don’t add salt to my food either. As I don’t eat much carbs I eat more protein including meat, fish, eggs, cheese, and I snack on nuts or fruit. Each to their own I suppose 😊

No idea that I had posted with just the word "have" sorry, must have been away with fairies 😂

As I said, the energy use is definitely down to a fine art in your house.  We have the gas oven and hob on  loads.  I think a lot of the bill comes from cooking! Think may be looking at making better use of the slow cooker and air fryer, as have both but don't use often.  I have resisted getting a smart meter,  but maybe I should re consider, this would help keep track

lol Tresinia no problem 😌 I don’t have a smart meter either. I find I obsess over such things and don’t want to be panicking when it goes up. Bad enough with blood sugars 😂

Off to look at carpets with DF tomorrow. Hba1c test on Thursday then down to friends for tea and cake 🍰 😁

@Skint_yet_Again I don't think you need to worry about your diet. You eat very well.

I have a smart meter for gas and electric, but like you don't want to obsess about it so it is in a drawer unplugged!

Just think of the fun you are missing without a smart meter,  Well without the IHD really.  Mine is right next to where I normally sit.  Welcome to my world of - how much longer is he going to be in that shower at 8.5kwh, usually using 4 kWh, thankfully some of it from the solar & some from the battery on a decent day.  Not forgetting - does the kettle really use that much.  Would you believe I now put water in the kettle after I have just used it as it uses the residual heat to take the initial chill off.

We have our IHD plugged in but I can’t remember the last time I looked at it must be over a year ago.

BUT…I do log into the purple tentacled app daily…because of the solar panels the excellent weather in March/April has cancelled out our entire energy bill for both months so far. That doesn’t always happen with the weather challenges we face in the UK - but it’s nice when it does happen.

Thank you all for your comments about smart meters. I’m not in a hurry to get one 😉

Have been out with DF for lunch. Jacket potato with tuna & salad for me. DF had tomato & basil soup with bread & butter plus 2 x tea, total £13.08 from my entertainment fund. DF’s turn to pay next time. Then spent ages looking at carpets. Finally chose one £127.50 plus fitting £50 on the day next week. Think DF was glad I finally made a decision 😂
