Pool was cold again today 🥶 Have been under a throw on the sofa all afternoon with the heating on and just cannot get warm.

My car tax reminder has arrived £160 which will be paid from the annual bills pot. I have arranged to go and see Puppy dog and golden child later this month. Have been really missing them lately & will see DS & his gf plus my friends too.

Cold & rainy day. Have been into the city on the bus with DF. My 2 year bond with nwide has been closed and money transferred into my bank current account. Then went to my bank to transfer part of the money into my new 2 year bond and got a call from the fraud dept while I was still mid transfer 😂 So I managed to convince them it was me and I wasn’t being coerced by a 3rd party and they let the money go. Then went to the leeds and money had arrived. Blimey what a faff! Thank goodness all the banks / building societies are near one another.

Then we went for fish & chips. My turn to pay £16 for 2 meals (cod, chips & peas, bread and butter & pot of tea £8 each) I didn’t have any bread and only ate half the fish batter but it was yummy 😋

I now have £10000 in my instant access savings account for next years living expenses and £4082.96 interest into my diy pot 🤗

Picked up a pack of dishwasher cleaners £1 and a hairbrush £1.35 and some slug pellets £5. Living the dream 😂

I know you enjoy the aquafit but I'd be minded to skip it for the next couple of months if the water's cold. You can't spend the rest of the day unable to warm up! Or at least skip it if you're not feeling 100% before you go.

Well done on getting the next year of money sorted, and a nice chunk of interest to spend this year making your home even homelier (if that's a word!)

2nd on dodging the aqua fit till they get themselves sorted - it sounds like it’s making you ill!!

Exciting you have all your spends ready for this years plans - so inspiring you wont have a sniff of debt - it’s already there ready to go.  Well done to you  🤗🥰

I am not convinced that missing aquafit is a good idea. The health benefits of the water workout far outweigh any temporary discomfort from cooler water. By law the water has to be a certain temperature in any case. OP could be feeling colder afterwards for any number of reasons.

    Thanks Time2count, Suze & Lord_Mattenly 😊

I think I am insane according to Einstein as I keep going to aquafit hoping it will be warm 😂
It does however keep me moving as I know that I won’t walk in the cold & rain! Have been wrapped up with the heating on. Had curry for lunch. DF popped in for a cuppa and measured the spare room for me so I can start looking for wallpaper. I walked to Friends for a cuppa and catch up now she is home from holiday. Now I’m home with heating on and a hot chocolate.

My phone has been pinging like crazy arranging meet ups with friends down south. Can’t wait to see everyone.

Aaargh!!! My chest freezer has broken 😭 Packs of goose are still frozen & DF has fitted them in his freezer. Fish stew partly defrosted and binned. Roast lamb dinner has defrosted so I have just eaten that with root veg mash & cauli cheese. 4 skinny sausages and 1 portion of gammon partly defrosted & put in the fridge, will be eaten for breakfast with an egg & some more root veg mash / cauli fritters. The rest is veg which is soft so will probably be binned.
Thankfully I don’t seem to have lost too much and I now have money in an emergency fund since my bond matured. Will be looking on line to see if I can get a freezer tomorrow 😕 There is power but the ice is melting and the motor is not coming on. DF (ex-electrician) has checked the power / fuse etc.

Not good news, but also an opportunity to purchase a more energy efficient freezer that may be cheaper to run. Best wishes.

Unfortunately Lord_Mattenly all the small freezers / undercounter freezers are energy rated E. Only one model is frost free. So DF drove us to curries and we took one away £259. I need to leave it to stand then plug in tonight and it should be cold enough by the morning. Then I can put the packs of goose back in and go to aldee to restock on veg / bread.

Oh no SYA - nitemare! Sounds like you did a real good job salvaging the situation though. Thank goodness you have the budget sorted for it 🥰👍🏻
