Thanks Time2count. I have had a day off healthy eating today and have pizza and ice cream in the freezer for tea. Then it will be back to “normal” low carb / low sugar tomorrow. I don’t like feeling sorry for myself when there are so many people living with things much worse than diabetes.

I have aquafit in the morning and then out for lunch and shopping with my friend.

I’ve been looking at fixing my g & e with brit gas they have a fix just lower than the variable tariff I have now with e on and if I switch via mse energy club I get £20 cashback. If the price cap goes up from Oct I should save some money. I’m not sure why I feel so reluctant to do it. Probably as it’s so long since fixed rates were a thing

I very reluctantly fixed mine last month, the suggestion was I'd save a whopping £2 a month or something but I did it to hedge my bets against any future rises. It is a different mindset now isn't it? A few years back I'd merrily switch a few times a year but now it feels scarier to do as there's the possibility you end up costing yourself more!

    Enjoy your naughty eating day!

It's easy to berate yourself thinking others are in worse positions, they are it's true. However it's good to allow yourself moments now and again to be annoyed/upset that you have the situation you do, they still impact your life. Just don't fall into the trap of indulging it took often or you'll become miserable!

    Thanks Time2count 😊

I have clicked to switch g& e (with £20 cashback within 6 months). Hopefully it will all go through smoothly! I am going away Thursday till Tuesday so I will read the meters when I leave in case they ask for reading on thu. If they don’t ask until fri I can provide a reading on Tuesday when I get back.

Just putting the pizza in the oven 😉

Join my delusion.  Muscle weighs heavier than fat, that's my excuse & I'm sticking to it.

I am probably the fittest I have been in years since I left my 5 day a week desk job @badmemory so I will go with that 😂

Sunny morning here. Aquafit this morning. “Payday” tomorrow, not sure if I will lose some interest if I take capital out before the end of the month so I will use some of my monthly interest for lunch today. I usually just leave it, so it’s not accounted for in my budget. Nothing as good as a free lunch ☺️

I'm inclined to agree that if you are getting fitter but not losing much weight, unless you are severely overweight, it is probably a good thing  :)

Your meals are great and you cook from scratch often

Thanks dia 😊 hba 1c results are back. Down to 47. 🥳

    june 2023 = 64
    sept 2023 = 46
april 2024 = 56 (fell off the chocolate wagon & they wanted to give me more tablets)
    July 2024 =  47

I need to try and keep it more stable. Ideal is 48 or below I know what I need to do it’s just sticking to it with my poor willpower! (I am not asking for or offering medical advice)

Enjoyed aquafit yesterday. Had a nice lunch and mooch round the shops with friend. Took some items back for refunds.

Went with DF to dentist this morning to put his medical records on their new tablet. I did mine last time I went. He’s ok on his laptop with the big screen and proper keyboard but struggles to see the screen/ type on screen of a tablet. All done & should save all info for next time. His teeth were fine & no treatment needed 😁

We called off at the local pub on the way home and had a carvery 😋 Wednesday special £8.75. Payday today so used entertainment fund. We are off to my sisters in the morning for a long weekend. 🤗

Slow weight loss is good, stands a better chance of staying off. Your results were great and you eat well.

    The breakfast sounded delicious!
Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.
  • Thanks jwil and MF 😊

1st of August 😳 this year is flying by. It’s pouring with rain this morning. Just finished packing, windows locked & all spare keys / window keys locked in the safe. Dishwasher has just finished so I will empty it before I go. Next door are watering my tomatoes while I’m away but I don’t think they will need any extra water today 🌧️

Direct debits have come out of current account. £150 into 6% regular saver from 2.7% instant access account. 3 more payments to go & will be max £5k. That will leave me 7 x £833 Sept to March to live off. Bonds mature in Feb & I will then keep £10k to live off April 2025 - March 2026 & reinvest the rest, leaving the £5k at 6%.
    That’s the plan anyway! ☺️
