That cheese sauce sounds lovely and so simple!

  • Thanks MF, SQS and jwil 😊 I just put the cream & grated cheese in a microwaveable jug for 30 seconds on high, stir, then another 30 seconds. It thickens up when warmed. 😋

Lovely sunny morning here ☀️ I have been to the post office & returned the mat alan items. Bit of a faff but they were very helpful. Just hope the refund comes through ok. I paid on my credit card so the statement is not due until beginning of August & will be payable by end Aug. I did get proof of postage. I believe the items came from 3rd parties direct SQS so have to be returned to them. One seller had a return slip & return label in the parcel. The other seller used R Mail & that is the one you have to print a return label for, however I don’t have a printer.

Just waiting for my washing to finish & will hang out & get next load in. Will go to Aquafit tomorrow morning & pick up a hot roast chicken on the way home.

    Thanks SQS & dia. 😊

It’s going to be a hot one today ☀️ Already 24 degrees in my bedroom and that’s with blackout curtains.

Off to aquafit this morning. Then my friend has invited me to lunch at her house with some of her family & asked me to bring a chocolate cake for dessert. I will get one from asd@ on way back from the pool, plus I need some milk & I will still get a hot roast chicken & have some tonight with salad to save cooking or heating anything up. £47.53 left in my budget for food so will use some of that & do my main shop next week with what’s left.

Thanks dia 😊 pool was lovely. Had lunch in friends garden which was very nice but it was very hot 🥵 I was sat in the shade but by 3pm I was feeling unwell so I walked home. Not sure if it was high carb food or glass of wine (with sugar free lemonade) or the heat. I opened windows, put the fan on and fell asleep on the sofa. Still don’t feel great this morning. Windows are open & have eaten breakfast & am hydrating with glasses of water. Don’t feel up to doing anything much today.

Spends yesterday £14.76 = cooked chicken, 4 pints skimmed milk, strawberries, chocolate cake & pork & apple sausages reduced from £3.10 to £1.86. Also put £10 petrol in the car.

I was looking up one of my tablets online this morning because I took the last one last night and didn’t realise I had run out. I have ordered a repeat prescription on the app but local chemist not open until Monday. After checking nhs advice online I ordered an emergency prescription & 10 minute drive to next nearest chemist, I now have a 7 day supply which should be enough until next prescription is ready. Phew! Never realised that was possible.

Put mince & veg chilli into slow cooker when I got back & had some cooked chicken for lunch.

Have spent the rest of the day snoozing and laying on the sofa. Had some chilli this evening & rest has been portioned up and frozen. An early night is on the cards for tonight.

Felt a bit better today, maybe because it’s cooler. Have made some more muffins with carrot & apple & 2 loads of washing out to dry. Popped to asd@ for double cream & cheese to make a veg (no pasta) lasagne tonight & picked up 3 pots of mixed root veg mash 3 x 39p which is now bagged up into 6 portions in the freezer.

Just going to friends house for a cuppa.

Not as sunny today but warm with a nice breeze. A bit more herringbone block paving brushed & just a small patch left to do. Drove to fencing place with DF and ordered 3 fence panels £120 from Diy/ interest pot. They are being delivered later this week.

Popped to post office to send a card to a friend down south. Card & second class stamp already bought from birthday pot. Then on to aldee spends £28.02. DF has given me 2 large marrows from his allotment & a cucumber. I am going to make stuffed marrow & beef curry & tandoori chicken thighs this week. I also still have 4 batch cooked meals in the freezer so should have enough to last until next Wednesday “payday”.
