Today I am grateful for the people who made the French breakfast I organised at school go so well, for the coach company for the day trip to France next Thurs letting me know now (and not weds) about a change in check in times for the ferry, for teaching some lovely kids, for not getting caught in the downpours, for DH prepping tea, for dc being very chatty.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!7

Another hug from me @lcc86.
Happy holidays @Shrewbie.
Glad you're having s better day @grandmanerd.
Another good day at work, one more week & then we break up 😊 Left half an hour early to drive to town for an opticians appointment. Had lots of tests done, & asked to go back on Monday to get drops for a possible cataract. The optician was quite surprised as I'm only 47. DS1 is going to take me, as I'll be unable to drive afterwards.
Picked mum up & we went shopping. Put it all away, then sat knitting. Only @2" & the cuff on one sleeve still to do, should be finished before my holiday 😃
Grateful for another good day, the weekend finally arriving, time to knit, the new teacher being nice & making me feel appreciated, DS being available to drive me on MondayUse it up, wear it out

Sending hugs @lcc86. I have found my parents unhappy marriage very difficult to be around all of my life, and it's no different now they are in their 80s, still together, still rare to treat each other with kindness, consideration, or to find anything positive to acknowledge about the other! Its devestating really to think they must both have felt there was no option but to stay. The district nurses asked my mum the other day how long she had lived in our village and and she said 45 years, and I've hated it here all of that time, i'm more of a city person. None of us really knew what to say to that, but it made me want not to have so many regrets myself and if I find a situation I am unhappy with, to try to change the bits I can! life is short but being unhappy can make the days or the years very long. I hope your folks find their way to the next phase of their lives without regret. x9

Thank you all for your really kind messages. My mum has made my dad give up their dog overnight that they recently adopted, my dad's absolutely devastated. I've no idea why he gave in to her when things are the way they are. I'm just offering my support and have told him I'm here if he needs me. I'm hoping he'll be able to make a decision soon. Will update on MSE stuff later or tomorrow. Thanks again turtles.10

lcc, my mum left my dad when she was 80! After that, I think they actually got on better, which surprised me and my sister hugely.Today I am grateful for bumping into an old friend at the gym (not literally!), for the wafts of hyacinth perfume as I walk up to the front door, for the daffs all sprouting up lustily, for dc having a friend over and the mum and I chatting while the kids did their thing, for a quiet evening to recover from some hectic days.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!8

Oh @beanielou, I hope he returns very soon x
Well today, I have spent the whole day sitting at a table at a clothes swap. A few people came to ask how to repair things (I was at the mending station) & a few took my card for alterations to be done after my holiday. Was able to listen to the talk on colour, but missed the one on style. Did get some tips to fix zips from a more experienced seamstress, so will be good to know in the future. Nipped to L1dl for a couple of things they didn't have yesterday.
Unpicked a zip, then knitted whilst watching a film with DH.
Grateful for new tips, meeting new people, that the clocks change tonight, so I can get an extra hour in bed/to celebrate DS1's big birthdayUse it up, wear it out
