Hi All I have been fairly rubbish lately, overextended myself with having students stay, then lost a workshop job because I missed sending the description for workshop and photo for promotional deadline, did not get an other day job locally possibly due to being a bit of a princess, and today I have an interview for a research phd - wish me luck, from tomorrow I have promised to walk a dog twice a day, but that could turn out to be a good thing, as I will have less time to spend money as I am now having 4 weeks of only working 4 days a week, which I am looking forwards to. And breathe. And full stop. Maybe I can get caught up on my actual job.
Sorry for rant. But when I get stressed I just want to sleep, not a very logical response - ideally I would do one thing - and then go to sleep! I started having ptsd reactions last week and it is definitely brought on by stress, the coming weekend will be all gardening and a spot of volunteering for my running club.
Today I will do one thing - complete presentation for phd interview, cook dinner and go for a run. I need to buy milk and possibly one more thing so won't be a much needed NSD day. Happy hump day.Isa help to buy: 1000/3000 33%

Just a quick " Hello".
I haven't completely disappeared just retreated a bit into my turtle shell. I'm trying to wean myself off my phone (and that affected being here a fair bit), in combination with wanting to read more, be more present with the kids, drink less etc. So far so good, especially the last few days as hubby is out of town again. My financial journey has taken a little step back as I whittled it down to a few good habits that I'd like to establish first rather than doing all at once and as soon as i'm more settled in them I'll be back. Probably not for April but rather May, as I will be on holiday for two weeks, some of it abroad without WiFi (bliss).
I had a lovely mother's day. Got cards that the kids made (DD said she's loves me sooo much and is glad I'm not dead as she wouldn't exist then, awwww), some gardening gloves and a plant. Dragged the family out for a walk and did nothing in the house (paid for it the next day). At least DH cooked dinner the night before, lol
See you all in May (I'll pop in occasionally and do a wee catch up read now)

Updates for the last few days:
Monday - planned spend day, was my day off so took myself to one of my favourite cafes for lunch, it was lovely! Enjoyed a little time to myself with my book. Came home and did some pilates and a few jobs around the house.
Tuesday I woke up ridiculously early, so did some more pilates. Knew I had a long day ahead, we had an away day at work and then I took some kids to an event at the Old Bailey. I bought a meal deal so spent £6. Very long day, didn't get home until about 9pm. Slept like a log last night!
Today I worked from home in the morning then went into the office as I had a visit planned, which then got cancelled! So wasted train fare really but I wasn't to know in advance.8 -
I had a brilliant day at a training event. 110 mile round trip, which my car probably needed, but had a free lunch with lovely people, and it means I will end up with £100 extra at the end of the month. NSD 11. Yay! Happy Me! and tomorrow is Thursday 😁4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Hello all,Sorry, I have been rubbish at posting this month, but I have been reading along. I am up to NSD 7, which isn't great seeing as it is the 22nd! Weekly shop today, and also did loads of other stuff - 2 loads of washing, one of which dried outside on the line (the other has only just finished and can go out in the morning hopefully), took a load of stock to my sales unit and restocked, hoovered and dusted the bedroom and changed the bed, shifted some garden pots back, which were moved due to having some work done on the extension roof, and lots of other little bits, plus the all the usual chores, cooking and washing up. Exhausted now, and looking forward to a bath and bed!Grateful for getting loads done, a pleasant day for a change and the spring flowers in my garden5

Yesterday I had a lazy day but had a little flourish at the end. DS2 messaged to say he would bring my card and present on his way home from work. Well I sent him home with an 18 pack of St Pat's special, 3 bottles of non-alcoholic wine, his festive gift, baby's Easter present (plus a hand knitted Peter Rabbit), the platypus, 9 books, sensory balls and a pile of mum's photos for him to look through. They've decided it wasn't a sickness bug but is related to his genetic condition. It's happened before when he's missed taking his medicine for a few days and it's a prelude to coming down with a fever. They're also taking note of any particular foods that affect him.
Some of the baby's things were festive presents. We went from discussing where we should go for a meal to 'We're on our way, be there in 15 minutes, meal booked in half an hour' so things that were on the far side of the room did not get taken. I'd actually gone down 3 steps and realised a set of 3 books were on the landing but wouldn't go back. He bought me an orchid, I told him I kill them and he said it might already be dead because they couldn't get at it to water it.. My card was handmade with baby hand prints as the flowers.
Today I was out shortly after 10 am to take 4 library books back and drop off 2 large bags of donations at 2 different cs, then carried on to Icyland for salad bits (and ys cooked meat and sandwich fillings). then bench hopped all the way home. Did get offers of help (last one from a silver fox who had very good legs - he was wearing shorts).
After eating I went outside reclaiming soil (1 40 l bucket of reclaimed soil, 1 40 l bucket of weeds and twigs into the green bin, 1 rubble sack of stones (added to one of the 3 already started) and a bucket of rubbish that is not quite full. came in for a break but was nodding off so came back upstairs. Beloved gifted me half a roast chicken this morning so I'll eat that if I get hungry and can't be bothered to go back down.
Grateful for presents, lots of stuff out of the house, DS2 congratulating me on how the house is improving (he usually only sees all the things that still need doing and I resisted the urge to hide the worst bits. Laptop started charging and then decided to stop - it has mostly charged even though it said it wasn't. Going to have a shower and read myself to sleep. Bought 'A Girl Called Jack' and 2 similar cook books at the charity book shop.5 -
Today I am grateful for dc doing most of the school day, for getting some online training done, for a colleague offering to come on the day trip to Boulogne next week when she heard another teacher had to drop out, for a myriad of hyacinths, for a quiet evening at home.

Still felt stressed/overwhelmed on wakening, so gave yoga a miss. Had a phonecall from work just as I was about to leave, to ask if I'd take a detour & pick a colleague up who's car tyre had blown. Went 5 miles out if my way & there was no answer at the door, so had to drive back to the main road & then head to work 😠 not amused, neither was the head teacher!! The first part of the morning was lovely, even persuaded the pupil to do a jigsaw. They liked it so much, they asked to do another 😃
Back to my regular pupil then for the rest of the day. I know they are struggling with a lot of things outside school, but it makes it so hard going for me trying to deal with the upset it's causing in school! The new teacher has noticed how well I'm managing with it & keeps saying how much patience I've got. Me & the pupil hugged it out near the end of the day & read together, so finished the day a bit happier.
Went to a friend's for a crafternoon. I was the only one crafting though, but we had a good catch up, & she gave me a bunch of daffodils from her garden before I left.
Completed 2 sewing jobs after tea, then made jelly for DH's birthday trifle tomorrow.
Grateful for time to do a jigsaw, my friend & DS's GF both telling me they loved me, pretty flowers, time to knit
Happy holidays @shrewbie. Good luck with the job hunting @ditty1234Use it up, wear it out

Grateful today for people like Thrifty, circumstances sound so hard for some of the children you are working with, and I absolutely see that that can result in behaviour and feelings that impact on their time in school, with knock on effects to many. When you mentioned the jigsaw success my heart flipped, and then when it came to the reading, I was thinking what if people like Thrifty weren't there, providing those opportunities to regulate and a pathway to engage in a school setting. Thank you!!10
