Beautiful notebooks are lovely to have and look at, but even better to use as they make you smile every time you pick them up.Today I am grateful for resolving a situation at work, for a fab parent offering to help me massively with something, for getting an extra free period, for a good book, for peace and quiet at the end of the day.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!10

So, guess who stayed up late last night to finish her book?! 🙋
Had a bad dream & also woken in the night by one of the DS's closing a door loudly. Tired this morning, my own fault I know! Didn't do yoga.
A good day at work, phew! Had 4 bad ones in the last 7 work days (not incl. the weekend). Everyone happy at the end of the day.
Was a whirling dervish after that, dropping sewing off in various places, collecting more, going shopping, etc. Did have 10mins in between customers to look in M&C0 at the waterproof coats. Managed to get one at 1/4 of its original price 😃 perfect for when I'm walking/at work/on my holiday. A friend gave me 2 tickets to see a band tomorrow night, as she had double booked herself, managed to find someone to come with me. The band are from the Western Isles & I've heard they're quite good, so will only need to buy a soft drink or two, after all the dancing.
Took DS's GF home after I'd put the shopping away. Watched a quick programme with DH. I'll be off to bed soon.
A lady who makes & alters wedding dresses phoned me this evening. There's to be a clothes swap event in a local hotel next weekend, with folk giving demonstrations of how to make clothing repairs/alterations, how to knit/see, etc. The woman asked if I'd like to help at the mending station, & show folk how to repair their clothes. She said I can give out my business cards (good job I've just had 250 printed!). It'll certainly get my name out there, though I'm super busy with things as it is!
Grateful for a good day, free tickets, business opportunities & it being the weekendUse it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!
If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours 😃

Wow, everyone has been really busy!
We had a "night out" tonight. Took DD to the local youth theatre musical production- it was really good, very professional considering the age of the cast members. Had a spend on some half time ice-cream, so stay on 10 NSDs.
I've also had the tumble drier on, so a failing MSE day! Roll on Spring and outside drying days 😁.

I love the weirdos. The strange, whimsical, outlandish, peculiar and uncanny. The misfits. The curious, unusual, eccentric and unpredictable. The freaks. The radical star-gazing vagabonds. The loners. The rejects. The outsiders. The silly romanticists who ridiculously dream of changing the world someday - because they do (Creig Crippen)
Clutter robs us of life
It robs us socially when we're too embarrassed to have people over
It robs us spiritually because we can't be at peace in a cluttered home
And it robs us psychologically, by stealing our ability to be motivated in our space

Our passing through this life is so absurd and fleeting, it calms me to know I have been authentic, that I have managed to be more like myself as much as I could (Frida Kahlo)

You 100% deserve the beautiful notebook @grandmanerd!A busy work day yesterday despite it being Friday. Got drawn into a bit of office nastiness which I didn't appreciate, always try to keep out of things like that. Long gym session at lunch and my new yoga blocks helped with the splits exercises, I can't see any progress though. I was doing so well until I got ill and out of the rhythm, but I'm trying again, no excuses. Treated myself to a tortilla sandwich and a cup of coffee from the cafeteria (2.25 euros) logged onto my student loan account and was pleased to see it is now under 6k (pounds) - after 17 years might I add - grr where are the currency symbols??... although of course the interest is higher than it should be, toyed with the idea of paying it off (in full or at by at least half) but just can't bring myself to do it.Raced out the door at 19:30 to meet a woman who bought some shoes from me off an app. Couldn't find her for ages but we had a good laugh when we managed to locate each other and I am now 25 eur up. Funnily enough I then went to look at notebooks as I was in the area of a stationery shop that I like. Didn't find one, then on the way home found a huge shoe outlet and bought a pair of pumps that were on discount for 10 eur. I am trying to get out of the habit of buying cheap shoes but these actually were comfortable and I am in desperate need of some for work now the weather is warmer. Went to Home via Herr Liddle and made myself a crispy tofu salad and had some blue cheese and crackers before falling into bed.Grateful for my yoga blocks, for managing to sell an item online, for it being a bank holiday on Monday!Student loan £5655

Have skipped a few pages of reading. And more days of posting. 2 batches of exchange students have now been shipped back to France, my French has not really improved, but I hope they had a good experience.
This morning was a run and a swim, so now I'm just kind of swiping on the computer, and reading a bit here and there.
Yesterday I managed a NSD, which was much needed.
Thursday I was so tired I could barely stand up.
Nothing major to report, just dropped by to say have a pleasant Saturday everybody.

Spend day today, I decided to buy some new gym leggings as they were on sale, half price so snapped them up. I did some cleaning first thing, bathroom and kitchen, and a couple of other small jobs. Went to boxing class which was really good fun, but my arms were feeling it!
Had a physiotherapy appointment after lunch and found out I have tennis elbowvery annoying but at least now I know what it is and hopefully how to get rid of it.
Also bought some bread as we were running low. Batch cooked lunches and popped some washing on before dinner.9 -
Today I am grateful for the smell of hyacinths as I walk up to our front door, for a morning gym session, for yummy meatballs for tea, for getting some work stuff done, for not getting caught in the rain.

Happy Mother's Day to all mums, grandmas and anyone who has cared for children at any time.
Mother (noun, verb)
1 A person who does the work of many. For free.
See also: crazy, masochist, saint, multi-tasker, teacher
A mother's love is unconditional. Her temper is another story.
My day out got cancelled. There was a message yesterday but I only saw it today. DS2 is projectile vomiting so baby's mum had her Mother's Day outing cancelled too. The poor girl can't even have breakfast in bed because who wants food prepared by Mr projectile vomit. I've had a think about my day (DS3 bought me a Chinese meal last night and I only ate a bit and later Beloved gifted me a curry and some raita - I have tenderstem broccoli yummy).
Disappointment opens our hearts to know what we really care about. Don't worry about the closed door, focus on the open heart. More opportunity will come (trishblackwell.com)
The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honourable, to be compassionate and to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well (Ralph Waldo Emerson)
Everything in life works out in your favour, once you take care of yourself. Hydrate, stretch, sleep enough, connect with your lover, eat heathy food, and take care of your mind and body, no matter what (s mcnutt)
