Morning Turtles. Have had a very busy week! Joined the gym and actually went 3 times. Felt really washed out on Friday, then yesterday I came down with the lurgy that DD and DS2 have just got over. I hope I don’t get the cough part of it that makes you bark like a seal, I know it wasn’t their fault but it was very annoying in the night!
So far today I have had no acknowledgment of it being Mothers Day and they are all either avoiding me or asleep, not sure which!7 -
Vix on the soles of their feet when they go to bed still works a charm @firsview, even on teenage boys who squeal like angry monkeys when you put it onNo recognition of M-Day over here either.Had some sad apples and pears in the fridge that have been ignored by the boys for 2 weeks so I have made 3 big crumbles, and then some scones, and a cheese and onion pie. Had to make the pastry first though. The pie disappeared at lunchtime with 2 bags of salad and a curried carrot salad, and a potato salad with the remaining potato from the pie. Yet another potato and carrot based meal
There was a time (when the kids were small and we were poor) nearly all our meals (that were not soup!) revolved around potato, carrot, and peas. It was a standing joke.
So I am going to celebrate myself with a scone and cup of tea, and the new season of Picard.... but first, as ever, the laundry needs folding.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

I had a very productive day yesterday although it was a slow morning to start with, meditation and got some writing done and then dyed my hair and did the weekly shop, so no NSD. I made a loaf of bread, rocky road and a smoothie then pulled all the summer clothes out of hiding and sorted what I want for my hol, cleaned the house and made dinner. Bf came straight back from seville and went straight back out on a stag do. Rather him than me, I had an early night!
Today I got up fairly early and went out to the Rastro market with a friend, a Sunday flea market which I live close to, was looking for earrings and a handbag but found nothing suitable... we came back to mine for brekkie (granola and pan con tomate) and then went out to the park for a bit, and to a taco place for lunch. 10 weeks no booze but i did have a sip of my friend's frozen margarita... and then came home to watch the football. Currently in a rocky road coma!
Grateful for it being a holiday tomorrow, for a lovely day with a good friend and getting loads of sleep.Student loan £5655

Today I am grateful for my chocolate stash being enhanced, for support from parents about their kid's behaviour, for a fab workout while dc climbed, for old episodes of Hustle, for dh downloading a programme about the invention of the internet- dated tech (!!!) but very well made.

Happy weekend folks!
Saturday I did yoga, then went for a walk with DH, it was very windy! Sat sewing in the afternoon, then quickly had tea & got ready to see the band. Had a chat at my friend's before we went & a laugh with her DD & DH.
Wow, the band (Skerryvore) were A-mazing! I'd listened to some of their songs in the afternoon, so I had a rough idea of what they played, but it was nothing to them live. There were 2 men playing bagpipes (1 very easy in the eye, & in a kilt too 😉) in amongst the band & everyone was jumping around in the standing area. We got quite close to the front too, but didn't go right to the front as I didn't want them to be put off by seeing me bit knowing the words to any songs 🤣 My friend was really chuffed I'd asked her. An added bonus was that we didn't even buy a drink there, so another NSD.
Sunday I was up before everyone else. Practiced my Norwegian. DS3's GF messaged me, which was lovely. All 3 DS's had each made a card & I received presents (which DH had organised). Filled in my budgets for this week, then went a walk with DH. Started a new book whilst eating dinner. A customer came to collect her sewing, then I got another 2 sewing jobs done. Had a nap. After tea I did the ironing, then in the bath - face mask applied, more book read & painted my toenails, which I've not done for AGES. Another NSD.
Grateful for live music, laughter, my family, pampering, a clearer space in the living roomUse it up, wear it out

Morning turtles
Yesterday was a NSD. Went out for a ride on my share horse in the morning, we almost got attacked by a dog that had run off from its owner and was running around barking and getting far too close to his feet (no sense of urgency from the owner). Luckily my horse is super chill and didn't react whatsoever, very very grateful for such a sensible boy as it could've ended in tears for all of us!
Mopped the kitchen and bathroom floors, did a few admin-y tasks and then fell asleep on the sofa while reading my book. Had a bath and watched some TV before bed. All in all a very chilled out day.
Today I was woken at about 5am by a flareup in my back pain annoyingly. Even more annoying as I have the day off today! Hoping it calms down soon.
Happy Monday folks!10 -
Today I am grateful for a fun dance class, for the daffs starting to flower, for DH taking dc to their youth group and me collecting so I wasn't hanging around for 2 hours, for getting more work admin done, for making a veggie savoury crumble, for our printer.

I've mostly been in my room doing stuff for the past 2 days. Only came down at 3 pm yesterday and waited until then to charge the laptop (had moved the bed and didn't want the laptop to be marooned in the corner by socket). very tired but revived with food and spent a relaxing afternoon on the couch. Brought the minimum of things back up with me (including the laptop but not the charger). once again I came down to eat (gifted curry, microwave rice and most of a pack of frozen florets - DS3 was complaining about not paying for the veg with his meal because they only give you half a floret of broccoli so I opened a bag and cooked him some).
Just checking in before I go back to bed. I got a video of the baby at the park and then had a video chat with baby and DS2. they're busy next weekend so we're meeting in Manchester on the 2nd April and going to the Museum of Science and Industry (I love that place and it's ages since I've been.
Grateful for video chats, good books, my bed, getting there slowly.7 -
Did yoga & Norwegian before breakfast. Got organised & made dinner for today & tomorrow. Had the new teacher start in our class today, she seems ok so far. Had a laugh with the office staff at dinnertime. Picked up DS3 & GF, dropped sewing off on our way home. Cut out 3 memory bears after tea, one still to do. Would've probably got it done but DS1,3&GF had gone walking in the rain, so I tried to iron her jeans dry before she got home! NSD
Grateful for listening to songs from the concert on my way to work (very loudly 🤣), laughter, good books
Hope your back has improved @lcc86Use it up, wear it out

So NSD 12 today (sat was 11, sun was a spend day).
Not posted for a few days, been busy at work, car is broken- recovery truck took it home but now its in the drive broken- will hopefully manage to get it sorted in the next couple of days. Very glad to have breakdown/recovery cover attached to the car insurance, for many years I didn't bother adding it on but very glad that I changed my mind on that a few years ago. Will likely be hassle and costly to get it sorted but at least the car isn't sitting on a main road in a town not particularly locally!
Received a couple of very sweet gifts from DD for Mothers day, she has been crafting and baking when at Grandma's house.
