I see oil prices on the boilerjuice price page have started to rise again, anyone like to predict what they are going to do in the next year?Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0

Talking of boilerjuice...they emailed me today saying they are delivering in my postcode so I may get a cheaper price.
Is this genuine, or a sales tactic? What do you think?0 -

Of course it's a sales tactic. I only know one person who uses BoilerJuice. Based on his comments it is genuine that you MAY get (not you are guaranteed) a better price.
My advice is join, or start, a buying syndicate. In three years operation I've always beaten the BoilerJuice price.0 -
Thanks Richard, I might do that.
How would I find out if there's a syndicate in WA3?0 -
Well - there is my free finding service on the site listed seven posts up, but I only know about a few syndicates. I'd love to list more. Many of the ones I did find I got from google searches picking up parish mag articles and the like. Try that too, and you cannot beat asking around down the pub.0

I phoned to check the price of kerosene in the Isle of Lewis today and was quoted 41.4p from Scottish Fuels and 43.2p from Brogans.
Guess who's getting my order?0 -
I live in South Yorkshire. I think this is a great idea, that is getting to know what prices are I'm fed up with having to negotiate all of the time, but of coarse you have to to get the the best price. Putting our experiences here may help.
About 30 years ago when we built our house, we had electric heating installed in the ceilings. This worked very well and gave a well balanced heat in each room. We have since stopped using it. as oil was and I repeat was , a lot cheaper, but is it now? and are considering using it again. Does anyone know how to compare like for like with electric heating, the maths seems a little dunting for me.
Actually it's quite simple. According to Shell 28 second heating oil contains 10.3 kwh per litre therefor; price per litre/10.3= pence per kwh gross.
You then need to increase this amount by the efficiency of your boiler at a guess say 75% so you would then need to divide the gross figure by 0.75 or whatever your boiler efficiency is.
Electricity is 100% efficient (in the home) so you can then easily compare but make sure you have the vat on or off both!
Bit late but hope this helps someone.0 -

Just after their sales tactic, next-door had oil delivered, so at least they were being truthful about that. I did try your site, but the nearest syndicate is two counties away.0 -

So let's get a syndicate started in your area. It really works. My email address is on my site.0
