  • I would like to make the Forum aware of a problem I am having with a company called Go Locate Fuel.com. On 14th October I ordered and paid for 500 litres of heating oil price £224.18. Delivery due on the 25/10/10. Checked with Go Locate on the 19/10/10 regarding the delivery date and was assured that I would receive it the 25/10/10. I telephoned again on the 22/10/10 regarding the time the oil would be delivered but was informed by Go Locate that their supplier had let them down and I should of received a telephone call on the 21/10/10 to let me know about this. I was asked to pay another £25.00 to guarantee a delivery on Tuesday 26/10/10 because I needed the oil and being a pensioner could not afford to wait 10 working days to get my money back, so I had no choice but to pay the extra money.
After telephone this company this afternoon because the oil had still not arrived was told I might get it tomorrow (Wednesday 27/10/10).
So who knows when I'll receive my delivery of oil..
So people be aware if you decide to butyany oil from this company.

  • Hi,I have experienced a similar problem to yours concerning go locate fuel,my initial purchase with them was for £225 on the 8th of October, despite continued promise of the arrival of the fuel,I eventually kept phoneing untill I was eventually put through to a lady from "accounts" and told that I would be refunded within 3 days,it has now been 8,and no refund,I have contacted my Bank as I would advise you to do,as the police wont really deal with this, but the bank should be able to help you,and possibly help you retrieve your money from this "business".if this is a legitimate business,(and I have my doubts ,as they are not on yell.com)they shoudn't be allowed to trade, good luck with the bank, and I hope you get your oil/money refunded.

Firstly I would like to take this opportunity to apologise for any inconvenience you have experienced with your order with Go Locate Fuel.

During busy periods the web site processes orders in the region of 10’s of thousands of litres of fuel a day and the vast majority of orders are routed and delivered on time, if not early.

During periods of high demand, there are always going to be a small number of deliveries that encounter routing problems once passed to the supplier. In the vast majority of cases, these are dealt with and resolved prior to the due date and the fuel still arrives on time. Recently, we have had a small number of orders that we were unable to resolve prior to the due date. The important thing in these cases is that we continue to work hard to rectify those issues and work with the customer to ensure that they are satisfied with the outcome.

Whilst we fully appreciate that this doesn’t help the handful of customers that we were unable to resolve delivery issues for prior to the due date, we have to bring the problem into context, by looking at the volume of orders we process, compared to the handful of orders that weren’t delivered on time.

Go Locate Fuel values all of its customers and we try our up most to keep all customers informed if there are any delivery issues. Any customer can ask for a full refund if the supplier is unable to deliver the fuel on time. These are normally processed at our end and passed to our merchant services as a refund or trasaction reversal within 3 working days.

We have many very happy customers who have returned to purchase fuel again and again because of the savings we are able to pass on to the customer by grouping orders together and we are proud to say that we handle many more ‘Thank you’ calls than we do queries over deliveries. We also receive many compliments on how helpful our customer services team are and we have many customers signing up for our Smart Pay system.

Go Locate Fuel is proud to advertise the phone number on the web site unlike many other online heating oil web sites. This is done so any customer can simply pick up the phone and call us should they have any questions rather than hiding behind an email address like many other websites. We always answer the calls quickly and our customer care team are well trained to deal with any customer service issues. Here is our number again 0845 519 4381.

Most companies supplying fuels encounter very similar problems throughout busy periods, we are no different. As stated before we do not hide behind an email address, we have an advanced phone system to deal with lots of incoming calls whether they are sales or customer service calls.
Once again we do sincerely apologise to any Go Locate customers who have encountered delivery issues with one of our suppliers and rest assured that comments such as this hit home and are taken very seriously.

As stated above, we have to look at this problem in context. 10’s of thousands of litres of orders per day, successfully delivered with happy customers. A handful of orders have been affected, all of which have either been re-routed or fully refunded. Even so, we have reacted and listened to our customers and as a result, updated our internal supplier policies, implemented a new training program to ensure that our customer services team are better equipped to deal with problems before they become a problem and we have implemented new supplier trading practices to ensure that each supplier treats each order as seriously as we do.

i am in the same boat here! freezing cold as we have now run out of oil...when i was assured delivery from a local company and tried to cancel golocate told me i would have to pay a 15% charge on the 1000 liters i had ordered. my delivery was apparently express.. 11 cold days later i am very very angry!

in addition...you at golocate have yet to answer any of my calls! i have never had this problem in over 10 years of oil deliveries so you "context" is not appreciated or understood!
if you have issues then dont say you can take the order.....you are clearly unable to meet demands so should NOT be advertising or quoting to customers that you can! bad move in a word of moth, multi media society!
  • Well it seems there are quite a few people in this predicament!!! I made an order from Go Locate Fuel on 7th October and have yet to recieve a delivery. I have now been without central heating and hot water for a week, which is certainly not pleasant when your 7 months pregnant, with a 16 month old baby and living in the middle of nowhere! After several attempts to get an answer as to when it will arrive and even paying an extra £30 pounds last week for an express delivery, I feel I am hitting my head against a brick wall. I've asked for a refund, which apparently takes up to 10 working days (funny, it seemed to take them less than 24 hours to take the money from my account!) to then be told they can't refund my money until they find out if the oil is actually on route!!! Which surely just takes us back to the original question, when is this oil going to turn up?! Where are they locating this fuel from, Russia?!
  • I to are having problems, ordered 1000L on the 21 oct and still nothing, i tried all day today to ring them and keep getting an answer phone message saying to give your details as they are to busy to take the call and they will ring back, there website isnt showing all there info, and have emailed them aswel, so looks like were all in the same boat, no oil, and no money to get any more from some were else!!!! what can we do about this???
  • I like other members have had the misfortune to have ordered fuel from Golocate. I was told it was the hauliers fault ,as they had paid them and they had not delivered. I telephoned the Haulier who then blamed another firm and said they had my order, I then telephoned them ,who denied all knowledge of this and said he had only dealt with Golocate once and never again as they were s--t! I have been in touch with trading standards and they have said you must write to their head office which is Global Technologies Ltd Rochdale recorded delivery to complain then you have to allow them 14 days to respond after that if no joy trading standards will step in.IN OTHER WORDS UP THE CREEK WITHOUT A PADDLE. In future I will stick to Boilerjuice.
