I have the same treatment - order oil at a good price - it doesn't come and I send a message via their website - a man rings back and says that he will deal with it - nothing happens so I ring - no answer - try a message via website - no answer - get thruogh by phone and the man says he'll ring back - he does and claims that they have tried to phone 4 times - nothing on the answerphone or 1471 which is always checked so I consider this to be false - he ofers me oil claiming the supplier doesn't deliver i this area and wants another £18 - I refuse and he sayys that I have to email ben@golocatefuel.co.uk halfa day later no rply from there.
This has go to be a scam but apart from holding a lot of money at any one time how do they make their money.
I suspect that they will keep me hanging on until the 60 days I have to report it on my credit card runs out.
I would advise anyone not to use this company
Has anyone had oil in a reasonable time at the first agreed price?
Has anyone got their money back?0 -
I too have had problems, ordered oil 2 weeks ago, they were the best price I could find.
Oil didn't arrive when they said it would, be careful now...they do use the word 'usually' when they state how long the delivery will take, it will 'usually' be delivered within 5 days! What a vague expression of terms.
Mine actually took 2 weeks! But, at least I've got it (sorry to those that haven't). I had to constantly chase it up via email and phone, many times not getting a reply, other times they were very efficient and contacted me straight away.
I was also charged the extra money as they said that they couldn't deliver as there was a problem with the supplier etc etc, I would have to pay for the faster delivery or take a refund.
Reading between the lines. I think that as they are a newly formed company, July I believe. This company has grown far too fast and they can't cope, they are also struggling with the more rural deliveries in particular, due to the lack of being able to group deliveries, therefore getting their discount and making more profit. This is why they are having to keep putting deliveries off, in the hope that some other orders will be placed in that area.
They are also having the increasing burden that oil prices are steadily rising so they are in a catch 22 situation.
This is no defence on their part but I can understand what's happening.
I will pay the little extra in future and go elsewhere, it's far simpler and a lot less hassle!
Good luck to everyone else with their refunds and deliveries.0 -
We were contacted by a go locate customer complaining they had paid, had not received their oil and that we were the end supplier! We do not have a trading relationship with them but it seems that they are blaming genuine suppliers for non delivery.0

I would like to add that thanks to ben from golocate, and he kept in contact with me all of last wk, my order came the day before he said it would. yes it took nearly 3 wks after the order date, but better late than never i guess. i am lucky and i wish you all the best for getting your oil soon.0

IF YOU ARE HAVING ANY PROBLEMS WITH THIS COMPANY CONTACT
TRADING STANDARDS AS I DID AND I WAS TOLD BY THEM THAT THEY WERE IN BREACH OF CONTRACT NOT ONCE BUT TWICE,TRADING STANDARDS ADVISED ME TO WRITE TO THEM BY WAY OF REGISTERED LETTER WHICH I DID ON 2nd NOV 2010 SO FAR NO REPLY.0 -
Paid over the phone for express delivery on 10 November and was promised delivery within 5 working days as I told them if they couldn't fulfil this I would go elsewhere.
Ran out of Fuel on Friday - so already 2 working days late awaiting on an answer by noon today.
I wish i had read up on them first as I had never used them before.
I'm now saving up to get gas connected as I'm getting more and more disillusioned with heating oil and its price and this is just topping it off.
Had gas before this at previosu property and it really is a fraction of the cost0 -
I placed an order at the beginning of October and expected a delivery within 3 weeks - despite numerous phone calls and email I still do not have my oil - it's now 7 weeks later and I have not had my oil or my money back - they are scamming us all - I can't get a reply to emails and can't get through on the phone either - due to 'high volume of calls' - no doubt from others suffering the same fate as ourselves.
I shall be reporting them to Trading Standards and the police - repeated no delivery proves they are commiting deceptions on a regular basis - report them to the police - the more reports they get the more likely it will be that they will deal with them and not fob you off that it's a civil matter0 -
Kept chasing go locate by all means necessary yesterday and was not contacted by agreed times first by a Liz in accounts at 12:00 so I phoned and chased again.
Ben did call at 12:15 and said he was responding to my email of the weekend and started to tell me that his job entailed dealing with customers they had let down but that 99.9% of go locate's customers were happy. So why did it take him this long to respond - they are either the world's biggest company or he was lying. He promised a call by the end of the day - a call didn't come.
I chased again this morning and found out due to supplier (i.e. Go Locate being useless) problems they couldn't deliver my fuel - i.e. there weren't enough people ordering in my area and to honour my order would cost more than to refund me.
So Go Locate by the time my refund comes through after 10 days plus will have had my money in their account for a month.
On the plus note I am fortunate enough to not need the refund to buy some more and am using a local supplier who are delivering on Thursday at a sensible price.
I feel more confident that they will live up to their promise and Amy there was very helpful and called me back within 5 minutes to confirm a Thursday delivery was possible as opposed to Friday. So if you are in the Sussex area look for CPL petroleum in Shoreham.
If you have had problems with golocate I would suggest posting too as a company like this should not be trading. I will be writing to the appropriate government bodies about their breach of contract.
If there are any lawyers on here would the collective poorly treated customers of go locate be able to bring a legal case against them - I'd be happy to attend a hearing on principle other people can have financial gain.
I hope they enjoy reading this.0 -

Call your bank as even if you have paid by debit card if they haven't refunded you within 10 days of a promised refund or haven't delivered within 15 days of taking the money you can still charge this money back - I don't anticipate I will receive a refund either - they can't do what they advertise so we can't expect them to be able to do anything else, so i am already going down this route.
Keep correspondence to emails as this backs your claim up.0 -
Golocate renaged on a delivery to us, promised a refund within 10 working days (which hasn't been sent). Now they say it will take 30 days to process and a further 10 days to reach us! As I'm not abusive or slanderous I'll say no more BUT I WILL be taking this further. P.S.'Phone calls are useless as they are eventually answered obstructively.
Further to this we ordered oil through a local company as we were empty; They jumped through hoops to ensure we recieved a delivery within hours so I disbelieve some of the excuses offered to the poor consumers involved in this debacle.0
