Thanks I didnt know that, we've only had our central heating just over a year, so this is only our 3rd order. This was why I was hoping people might be putting prices on here so I could gauge if it was going up, as Im sure someone earlier said it had gone down recently. I have rung round with past orders, and will do next week now. I just thought this thread was so we could keep a track on what prices are, not discussing golocate.

Theres another thread - top of the page - a sticky. Looking there and it looks like oil has hit 50p a litre on the mainland

Oil isnt cheap and it rockets in the winter months when demand increases and road conditions make it a nightmare getting it out to you

manda1205-If you want to keep a check on what the prices are doing in your area go onto a site such as BoilerJuice or heatingoil.co.uk, put in your postcode and how much oil you want and see what the price is-you don't have to submit an order. Unfortunately the price what one person can get in one area may be different to that in yours so far better to use a site that is reflective on your area
  • get online price from golocate.present price is £238.60 for 500litres

It certainly seems to be heading towards a peak, looking at the boilerjuice price history. It's looking a bit expensive atm, if you can wait until this cold snap is over, I would*
*Bearing in mind I have no idea which way the oil price is going :D

Say what you like about boilerjuice, but they are the only decent price history chart out there (that I know :D)

please please do not use go locate - it is a scam - read the last 2 pages!!!
  • Today I've been quoted 45.61 per litre (+ vat) by Boiler Juice (10 day delivery) and 45.9p per litre (+vat) by Silvey for delivery in Plymouth area:). This is for an order of 2300 litres - myself and three neighbours put in a joint order.
Have gone with Silvey because they will deliver within 5 working days and we've used them in the past with no problems. I rang around and many places locally are charging 48p plus:eek:. Hope this is helpful to someone.

Boilerjuice says 56.85p for 700l today, I phoned around and got CPS to give me 53.90p, although Ive got a max wait of 8 days delivery. We arent double desperate but with the weather Id rather fill up now than have to worry over christmas. Shocking tho that this time last year when we first got our central heating it was 33.45p. Im in Norfolk BTW for reference.

Just thought I'd update as we should have had our first oil order today (weather permitting). Really pleased I checked this thread first as was going to go with "Go Locate"!

We ordered 750l from Total Butler and paid 42.38p per litre. All other companies I called were 47p-51p per litre.

    We are on Cambs/Herts border.
