  • I've just paid 30.95 per ltr based on 1000 ltrs. Thats the cheapest price for over 3 years. All the information available points to prices around this mark for some time to come if you can believe all the EXPERTS !! Opec are meeting next month and are already talking about cutting production to drive up prices. The problem most countries have right now are can they afford to cut production in the current climate, the main exporters all need income from oil to keep afloat. My own opinion is they will announce cuts but they wont keep to them which in theory should keep prices low.
  • Last Saturday paid 32.90 per ltr, came to £345.45 inc for 1000 ltr. Happy with this as it was almost double last September. Company was Caldo Oils, dont know if the price was good because I have not used the company before. Im in West Lancs.

The latest on heating oil as at 9/3/09. Boilerjuice's best quote (before any grouping) was for 800 litres, 36.86p. Best quote was 33.35 = £266.78 but delivery was not as good as my normal supplier (Rix). They were 34.63=£277.03 and have pulled out the stops for me in the past when I ran out. The highest quote was 38p=£302.40. The principle appears to be (as is always the case when buying anything) phone around, unless there are 1000's! Heating-Oil doesn't operate in this area (North Norfolk)

Further to above, on 6/3/08 I paid 48.27p, on 5/9/08 I paid 58.59, and on 8/1/09 it was 45.97p. Now it is around the 34p mark. All prices were the result of phoning around.

I've just ordered from Total Butler (we're almost running on fumes, so it'll be over 1000 litres). The price today is 27.4p, and if you order over 1000 litres today, they'll donate £5 to comic relief.

I haven't seen oil this cheap for years. Our last fill up was about 47p per litre back in september.

Shame we don't have a spare tank to stockpile! :rotfl:

Just paid 32.76p (inc VAT) per litre for 1,500 litres - it looks as if it's starting to creep up in price again.

Oh to have that kind of price - we paid 39p a litre a couple of weeks back, so 800 litres set us back just over £300 when the VAT was added. But I'm grateful it wasn't the 62p a litre that I had to pay for last September

I've joined this forum to ask if anyone has any ideas how to apply pressure to have the price of heating oil reduced in line with the fall in general oil prices?
As usual, london based government has no thought for rural dwellers, who have limited choices for heating fuel. How do we lobby?

Oil prices are driven by 2 variables cost of barrel and exchange rate to $.

The price of oil did not treble when the prices hit their highest peak of $170 per barrel.

The prices move on a daily basis and have hit as low as 29ppl, speculation in the market and the prospect of the recession over had driven speculation into oil thus raising the price.
I all have learnt is from others on many sites.
    Seek legal help if unsure.
Dont pay Private Parking tickets - they are mere invoices.

  • Hello all, I was just wondering if anyone had a quicker system of comparing quotes for kerosene? I live in Jarrow and I need 500 litres. I have used cheapestoil in the past but is there any others? :money:

    Cheers
