    Switching to UB in progress.

Just to let people know ... there is a liitle catch-22 snag in doing the £1,250 in and out.

There is a daily limit of £1,000 for payments which is increased to £20,000 after 30 days (I think) but you can use Anytime Internet Banking except you can't make any payments until you have received a card reader, even if you already have one (they're all the same). Assisted telephone banking cannot make the payment because it needs to send an OTP but the mobile phone number takes 3 days to update even when several texts have been received already.

    So what have I done:
    - paid in £1
    - paid out £1 in the app
    - paid in £1,250
    - paid out £999 (no security interception)

Apparently the limit resets daily at 06:30pm, so I will payout £251 later.

edit: no it's at midnight ...
  • Didn't apply to me, £1250 in'n'out the day after I got access, outbound using the app.

I tried from the app and was only allowed to send out £1k, but I was told the limit resets at midnight. I tried Anytime Internet Banking but you either need a card reader - which I don't have - or biometric approval - which I can't set up yet.

BTW - I left Cora open last night and I am still waiting to be connected to a human to discuss my switch 🥴
    01.12.2020 - CC £16,839 / Loan £18,820 / EF £0
    03.07.2023 - CC (0%) £9,859 / Loan £0 / Savings £10,110

    Hi

Strange I have been to NatWest branch today regarding Ulster account

I just received a text and email from NatWest asking for ID on line to save me sending documents

I opened a NatWest account at the same time as Ulster I was under the impression a letter was on the way to me from NatWest

Does anyone recognise Digidocs that I am asked to register with or is it a scam ?

    Thanks

I’ve had my card through today, and my customer number emailed yesterday. No sign of activation code, does this come by text does anyone know? Or snail mail?

Hi, my activation code came via text message the day after they emailed my customer number, so hopefully you should get it soon, the email was sent at 9am yesterday with the customer number and i have the activation code text this morning at 9 (they have a short date for expiry so assuming they send them all out via text if have number (has to be used by 6 march).  i have used it and managed to log into my account today, so i now know my sort code and acc number as not displayed on the debt card they issue.

Hi, did you have the account details when register the internet access?

I received my customer number and activation code, but haven't got the account details yet. I tried to register "Anytime Internet Banking" but the process seems to require the account number and sort code. Do I have to wait for these before registration?

No, you shouldn't need to register separately because you already have your customer number and activation code. Try logging in with your customer number and using the activation code.

That’s not possible without the account number and sort code, and they won’t mail it to you, the only time you’ll receive anything in the post is when you receive a book of paying in slips and the card reader. You’ll need to phone Ulster Bank for the account number & sort code, which they’ll provide so long as you’re able to answer their security questions.

I got a guy with a strong Liverpudlian accent who said the account details would have been on the screen when I applied, but they weren’t & I think he was confused by what you see when you open an RBS account
Does the paying in slips not have the account details?

https://www.natwest.com/digidocs-guide.html. I haven't used it but appears bonafide.

The NatWest online application used HooYu, visual movement check and photo document check. UB had no camera online check or documents required by post. BTW did you see my earlier post to you before you went to your NatWest branch.

... indeed it appears midnight is the time it resets ... I've just tried the payment and the message tells me that. Why did the advisor tell me 6:30pm?

This bank is a bag of ... No RS account ... requirement to pay in £1,250 with no way to transfer it out again ... sorry not impressed.

Hi, Yes I saw it. I did a bit of research and took the plunge with Digidoc also and everything went fine, also received the first email from Natwest,

We have received your NatWest current account application documents and you don't need to do this in branch or by post

    Thanks

Want to apply to Ulster for the switch bonus however I have several concerns

    1. I've had a Natwest bonus last year. I know it says if you've had an RBS Group bonus before you're not eligible, but app I've seen on here some people have had the bonus pay out. Is this right?

    2. I'm seeing loads of people having to fill in a physical form after waiting to receive it via post despite filling in an online application. I'm worried that by the time physical form is completed the deadline would've passed to be eligible for the bonus. I can't find an end date, so does that mean if I apply online today, but offer closes tomorrow, and I fill in the physical form after, am I still eligible?

I don't know about that but I have applied for both NatWest and Ulster this week so I'm hoping to get both as someone said they don't always talk to each other
