Did they specifically ask you for a certain ID? Some forumites mentioned there was no need to send the ID, unless they specified what they wanted.
I'm a NatWest and RBS customer, so surprised they need anything from me. Perhaps their systems don't talk to each other when it comes to sharing customer ID between brands.1 -

ForumUser7 said:I've had a letter from Ulster Bank today with a form to sign and return, and it specifically requests a certified item from List A (passport, driving licence etc.) rather than just a non-specific general ID request. Given the specificity, should I just send them a certified copy of the driving licence, or is this really not necessary? I called up today (didn't give application reference etc.), and they said I could ask CORA for a Hooyu link to upload it and the form, or even drop into a Natwest branch with them, and this apparently wouldn't affect the switch bonus, but I'm minded to just send whatever is needed through the post to be on the safe side.
They photocopied my driving licence and council tax, sent it off for me and all went smoothly
I have been paid from Ulster bank and Natwest1 -

No mention of specific documents.
Please post your signed application in the envelope provided or bring it to any Ulster Bank branch along with any supporting documentation. If you've already successfully provided your documents to us online, you don't need to sign and return this application form.1 -

I got asked to do the YouHoo thing, apparently passed, but still got sent the ID form.
I just ignored the ID request, signed and returned the form (although I'm a long-standing RBS customer which may have helped) and got the bonus.ForumUser7 said:flaneurs_lobster said:ForumUser7 said:I've had a letter from Ulster Bank today with a form to sign and return, and it specifically requests a certified item from List A (passport, driving licence etc.) rather than just a non-specific general ID request. @ForumUser7 ...
From what you've said they specifically asked for ID in their letter to you. However my letter had the same paragraph as @flaneurs_lobster neither having specified nor required ID documents in the process; 'along with any supporting documentation' is meaningless without requirement definition. Signing the form confirms the application and the application details page.
As previously stated UB's application process doesn't make sense in some areas and this is one more thing, differing application confirmation letters.
I hope the NatWest branch can fulfill Ulster Bank's requirement.1 -

I found it odd how they asked for me to post in 1 item from list A, and defined list A as being:- Passport
- Driving license
- Electoral identity card (must show photograph)
- National identity card (must show photograph)
So to be clear, they wanted me to post in an item of photo ID but they don't accept photo ID via post...
I can only conclude that they meant to say they don't accept original photo ID via post, but this seems to be a careless oversight, seeing as they have differentiated between original and certified ID in other placesIf you want me to definitely see your reply, please tag me @forumuser7 Thank you.

Can anyone advise, I know that I should rely on what the letter says but I just wanted to check. I signed up for an account and got a text/email from Ulster asking me to verify my ID via YuHu. I did this yesterday and received a letter to sign today. In the letter it says if I have verified by ID I don’t need to return the letter. Is that right?
I know it sounds simple but why send the letter if I don’t need to return it?0
