am unable to open an account with ulster the very last part of the application ask's to choose a bank nearest me (canterbury) it finds 0 so i use branch locator put in the sort code of the natwest branch and it still will not proceed beyond this point. Shame

Just search for the Ulster Bank branch called "Newry" (or Armgah or Crumlin) and select that one. It really doesn't matter which you choose.

Update from mu switch, I received today £200 from switch (TSB to Natwest), account switched on 23/2, account opened on 16 Feb, app downloaded and 1.25k£ paid in a few days later. What's important I used to have account with RBS between Jul 2019/Oct 2020 and received switch offer from RBS. Hence its really seem that they dont check it (offer from the group). Now I think I will try to open account with Ulster;) and will have (more difficult) to convince wife to open account with RBS and perform the switch (she had already account with natwest and received the switch offer, but she really doesn't like the whole switch game - "too complicated!";) but I was able to convince her a few times in the past...

I put down Bangor.  I live in Bolton.  No problems.

I received my £200 today. Mine was a switch into an existing Natwest platinum. Switch completed on Friday. Transferred money in Friday after message saying it had completed.

Yep, also. That's an RBS/NatWest double in one day.

Now if Ulster Bank could just let me know if I have opened an account I'd be more than happy.

£200 from RBS landed today! Worth the slight stress.  How long do I wait before I switch again I wonder??

Thought I'd throw my experience in the ring. Did a natwest switch back in 2017 or 2018 to get their bonus. Based on t&c I'm not eligible however my current switch to RBS has qualified and I'm now £200 up. Happy happy days. All helps with the cozzie livs.
