Hello,
Thanks for this. My doors are almost all UPVC doors.
There are 7 locks to change in total. Are these as easy to change?
I know I could probably just google it, but you seem "in the know".0 -
The doors should have an easy to remove barrel (the bit the key goes into). Just make sure you get the right one.
To be honest, You should do this even if she does move out as she could retain some keys and therefore have access to your house.YNWA

Yes, I will regardless.
All the locks will be changed regardless on the 1st of March or 28th of February.3 -
At least now you’ve had the conversation 👍

Did it on Sunday.Went badly. Had to call the police. She freaked out and got her mum on loudspeaker and her friend to come round.Police told her she has no rights to stay and its upto me how long she can stay for.Soon quietened things down after that.I can't wait for this to end. When I haven't got my kids I'm staying at families in Essex.13

Wow, that escalated!!How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)2

I think you have been more than fair and generous with her to this point ( most people wouldn't have given an ex £17K to rent somewhere, and she doesn't need anywhere near that ). Too many people seem to think that if they split with a partner they can carry on living the same lifestyle their partner was funding

Am I right in that you're saying you leave her in the house and stay elsewhere when you don't have your kids?
What if she changes the locks on you?

I definitely wouldn't move out whilst she is still there. As the previous poster says she may change the locks. She could also trash the house or do anything really.Stand your ground and change the locks once the date you set has come if she has not gone.3
