Owls stuffed with stuffing! Probably came from bits cut off human duvets or from old pillows. Certainly didn't buy it!!!
I will get that red owl some new eyes!! (when I get a chance to search through a huge tin of buttons)
yesterday was experimenting making rhubarb cordial- jury out on that! Pulp went into rhubarb & ginger cake -not enough ginger for sure.Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

Hello all
Sorry I have been AWOL.
Mum started her radiation therapy yesterday so I have had my mind preoccupied with making sure she is ok and then FIL had his results and he now has to have an operation in October to remove his bowel and have a stoma fitted because his cancer has come back. Ah never rains does it. Needless to say hopefully both treatments are effective and we can carry on. I chose a phrase and a word at new year to inspire this year and the word was IMPROVE and the phrase was WE MOVE. So that's what I'm doing. Improving what I can around us and we will just keep moving, jumping hurdles and crossing bridges as we reach them.
I feel like the house looks like Im losing a game of Jumanji and my garden actually resembles Jumanji at the minute!
I have a list of stuff to do in the garden to get it sorted.
Life has gotten so behind on itself whilst Ive sorted other stuff and people out. Doh! Time to play catch up.
So I have sold a few items of clothing and made myself £40. I will not be spending it on crafting stuff. I wont. I wont.
I sat, wrote and decorated 3 pen pal letters yesterday and have posted them all today.
I still have another 9 to write!
Hollys decided she wants to find a pen pal too so we are on the hunt at the minute for one for her too.
I have the house relatively to myself at the minute since the kids are off school and husband is working away so I can sit later and write a few more since I don't seem to fall asleep early when he's not here.
I also had a look through the other day and found out some stickers, writing paper and envelopes so I can use some of them up. Im hoping to make a big dent in my craft stuff over the next few weeks.
So by the end of August I am hoping to
- attempt crochet or knitting again.
- I will do this macrame!
- the 4 snowman cross stitches will get made into cards.
- catch up with letters
So lets get this done
Time to find me again7 -
Hi @sammy_kaye18, you're so right - it never rains but it pours. I've found in the past that if I have lots of things preying on my mind then a little bit of knitting or crafting let's me switch off from my worries for a short time anyway. Hope your mum and FIL get on well with their treatments. Thinking of you xxDebt free - Mortgage free - Work free ( in that order

Wow, you have been busy @Katiehound. Those owls are so cute.
@plumduff55 the cushions are beautiful, the fabrics are gorgeous. And the snowman jumper is so sweet.
@Florenceem I love your advent calendar.
@greentiger I love your expression bookberg! We have got rid of a lot of books this year, it has been tough . Still a lot left though. The more things I am disposing of the more I feel like letting go. I even threw away some embroidery I started and will not finish.
@sammy_kaye18 so sorry about your mum and FIL, it must be a huge worry.
I am still tidying and consolidating my craft stuff. It is scattered across at least 5 rooms in drawers, boxes etc. I really need to get like with like.... as whenever I want something I have to rummage for ages.
I did get round to taking a piece of embroidery to the framers, it has only been in my drawer for 30 years.! I also took in a cross stitch clock face, hoping he would finish it, but I have to fit the movement myself. The clock bits have arrived, so hopefully I will mount it in the next couple of days.2025 craft items finished 11/12

@Florenceem I love the teal colour - just lovely 😍
I am going on holiday to Italy next month for my niece's wedding so have started doing some sewing in preparation. Today I sewed a pouch to take with me. I also altered the denim bag I made earlier. I've added a drinks bottle sleeve inside and added a zip to the back pocket. Many years ago while in Barcelona I caught a pickpocket with his hand in my bag - I always been super cautious since
