@Florenceem foundation row is dc (uk) all other rows are dc into back of stitch creating a rib effect which is slightly stretchy.
@emsi_b thanks. They were cheap when we bought them but have such sturdy frames. We arnt doing lounge for a couple of years. I have just been watching youtube vids about filling and painting/ dying but it looks like there is limitex success on faux leather. I think that I might consider paying an upholsterer when the time comes but was hoping for a cheap fix. I think it is throws or nothing. 😂.

@Soontobeoap super fingerless mitts! I hadn't thought of making, but now on my project list. Thanks
@plumduff55 great project list. The craft show will be wonderful for buying yarn, and getting inspiration.
@emsi_b lovely cards.
@sammy_kaye18 what about making some plant labels to practice your pyrography - useful, but don't have to be perfect. I am going to attempt to do some engraved ones (engraver was a spur of the minute purchase from aldi a couple of years ago) as written ones just fade or get washed out in our incessant rain.2025 craft items finished 11/12

Made another wreath today to gift to my mum - similar to mine but with just flowers (no bunting, that way she can have it out all year round), forgot to take a pic.
Have been browsing pinterest/youtube for card ideas to inspire me to get going, lots of supplies but no gadgets so will all be basic. Also planning to get a rag wreath made up for my hallway for the summer months - the fabric stash has also made me want to make another table runner and napkins.

Oh, plumduff55, I’m supposed to be going to dentist on Tuesday but DH has covid, so I’ll cancel. I’ve got a streaming cold, boo, but not Covid, yay. A crown and a filling came out a few months ago. Last time I had that crown replaced, dentist said it would not go back in again so, extraction on the cards. ☹I’m glad all went well for you. You have a lot of big projects planned – well done for being so orgnaised. Have fun at the craft fair.
Wraithlady, thanks for the boro bag link; I’ve saved it. Yours is fab – and I love that chair!
soontobeoap, after reading the article about the boro bags, I wondered if you couldn’t do something like that on your tunic. Did someone on here not repair a duvet cover using this sort of idea? Oh, you did a lovely job with the daisies. You’re right, the buttons make a perfect finishing touch on your fingerless mitts.
Hiya, keepcalmandcraft! Sounds like you’re off and running!
plumduff55 will testify that my brain occasionally misinterprets what I read, and when I read your post, vulpix, about rabbit’s teeth, I was a) horrified b) thought it must be some special fastening – and then I read on and realised what a !!!!!! I was!
Aaaargh, Jim lad, I mean emsi_b, I really like your idea for tattoos! Your little pirate must be thrilled. Talking of World Book Day – my daughter is a librarian. Last week her daughter told me that her birthday (big 5) is on World Book Day and her mummy is pleased because she loves …. Worlds! Pretty cards – and your work space is far more tidy than mine ever is!
Katiehound, I’m saving your mending links! And the ribbon one! Well done on adding items to your boxes and for getting all those doggy duvets done.
Your spring wreath is very pretty, ziggy2407.
sammy_kaye18, your mother-in-law will love those cute robins; lucky lady. You just wonder what packers are thinking, sometimes, but I’m glad you managed to salvage the candles themselves.
old_fogey, I’m with emsi_b on gardening coming into the crafting spectrum.
Thanks to risk of passing on covid infection, I’ve been avoiding crafting. Before that reared it’s ugly head, I managed
· A few cards , including one for DGD
· Half a wee crochet jumper (6-12 months)
In the pipeline
· 2 gift bags – one needs to be done for Thursday for DGD, covid or not
· the cover for the cat carrier – had to order fabric as I had MUCH less than I thought
· finish wee crochet jumper (6-12 months) and start another (1-2years)
· more Christmas cards, anniversary card, St Patrick’s Day card

@greentiger Your cards are so pretty. I particularly love the 5 year old one. Also love the little jumper.
As it was colder yesterdsy I abandoned all of my list and started making a little cardi out of the wool that I bought on Saturday. It was a nice afternoon snuggled under a throw whilst enjoying a chat with DH. I still prefer the warmer weather though.😎craft stash 2023 =161, 2024 = 119 2025 = £25.96 spent, 128 made and 5 mended,

@Soontobeoap love the fingerless gloves! I somehow missed them when I replied uesterday but they are so pretty! I dont blame you either for abandoning projects. It was 0 degrees here when I woke up this morning so no chance Ill be outside, currently sat in a hoodie and with a fluffy blanket over my lap typing this reply!
@x_raphael_xx game of thrones is always worth rewatching. Have to say I am partial to the Hound myself
@greentiger I hope you and DH are feeling better and that the dreaded C hasnt caught up with you. All this talk of dentists and my son managed to chip his tooth last night. Rang his dentist this morning to find out that he had been taken off their books during covid because he had turned 18 so now cant find an NHS one so may have to ring to find him an emergency appointment instead. Love the cards and little jumper too!
@plumduff55 you will be relieved when the waistcoat is finished by the sounds of it and looks like you have a fair few projects lined up to keep you going.
@emsi_b the cards are so pretty. I have so much card stock to use with my cricut and brought a guillotine and pastel coloured card stock with my hobbycraft voucher so I think I might get round to making some Easter cards before long although I have a few birthdays coming in March I need to make for too. I really should get ahead of myself!
@old_fogey I agree I think gardening is still crafting. That's a good idea about the plant tags too with pyrography. I did sit down last night and found an old piece of wood my husband had left over from his project. I have measured it out and draw a pattern on it and ordered some coat hooks so Im going to try and burn the pattern into the wood then attach the coat hooks so I can hang them all in the hallway. They are on two hooks in the living room at the minute and they wind me up so since I'm trying to tidy the house it will be nice to get the coats into the hallway.
I think I am going to make a few things from scrap wood but also to help me get the house organised a bit better. Like I mentioned I have coats in the way, and the house just needs a good reorganise and a clear out so I think my cricut will be getting plenty of use soon to help label things and organise myself. I do really need to go through my craft area and get it better organised. I have things in labelled shoe boxes but because I cant see what's in them I just tend to forget about things.Time to find me again5 -

@x_raphael_xx - love The Hobbit and LOTR. I am on series' at the minute. Ive watched all GOT and The walking dead so now I'm catching up on Fear The Walking Dead. I would say try watching a series. Maybe Wheel Of Time on Netflix if you like fantasy stuff or The Witcher with Henry Cavill (your welcome!)
Walking dead I enjoyed until the last few seasons, then it felt very same-y, more focused on other gangs instead of the threat of zombies.
I do love The Witcher, was sad to hear HC won't be back for series 3.sammy_kaye18 said:@x_raphael_xx game of thrones is always worth rewatching. Have to say I am partial to the Hound myselfDebt Free as of 17/01/2009 Turtle Power!!

Feeling very happy tonight - I've actually finished the waistcoat 🤩. It fits perfectly and is exactly what I wanted. Thank goodness after all the hours I've spent knitting then ripping back - time and time again. Definitely a lesson in persistence. You can see the slightly different shading on the armbands and the back below the neck but I'm just so relieved to file away the umpteen patterns I used. I think that was the problem - mixing and matching too much!!!
