@old_fogey I think that building raised beds and gravel paths is crafting. I have added my wallpapering to this challenge and when I finally get around to regrouting the bathroom floor tiles I will add that too. A lot of DIY is a craft too. Looks like I am still going to be creating Christmas cards in March! Just dont seem to be able to get into them this year.craft stash 2023 =161, 2024 = 119 2025 = £25.96 spent, 128 made and 5 mended,

emsi_b said:Raphael, have you thought about binge watching a series? We have been watching all the star wars spin off series, plenty to get through there!
I did try to start 'Rings of Power' but I didn't make it through the first epi. I may try and perservere and hope it improves in a couple of episodes.
Of course there is always GOT to rewatch.

Hi, went to sew up seams of waistcoat to discover I hadn't done the armbands 🤬. Honestly this waistcoat has become my nemesis. So this morning I finished one armband and made my list of knitting projects for the next maybe 6 months 🤔. This will hopefully help to curb my spending at the craft show on Thursday.

DD in laws 1&2 and one friend Fingerless gloves in dk for Xmas - yarn from stash
That's all I can think of at the moment. I will have more knitting to do for the younger grandchildren at Xmas but I'll think about that once I get through this lot
Happy crafting - I'm off for a walk now as it's a beautiful afternoon
Edited to add that I'd forgotten about grandkids birthdays in May and June. Also I need to knit a pile of dishcloths for family. I have yarn for 3 so will need more cotton. I better stop thinking about this or the list is never going to end 😳

fingerless mitts completed. It is amazing how much difference 2 little buttons made to the look.
I have been looking at youtube videos today about recovering a faux leather chesterfield sofa. We have 2 but the faux leather is peeling back. It seems a shame to get rid for new but I think it is a step too far for me. Think we will have to keep them for a few years yet though and they look so tatty. Apparently it happens after about 7 years. The lesson here is to buy leather!!! The saving pot needs to grow. I must try harder with frugal living.craft stash 2023 =161, 2024 = 119 2025 = £25.96 spent, 128 made and 5 mended,

More fab work on here.
Where did you get the pattern for the fingerless mitts please - I think they would go down well at sales to raise funds for the SA?Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Hi @Florenceem I made up the pattern. Really easy just crocheted a rectangle to fit around hand, sewed it up leaving a thumb hole and crocheted a pretty edging trim. Great for using up odd bits of wool. They are great for indoors on these cold days as you can still type or sew with your fingers free. 😂.craft stash 2023 =161, 2024 = 119 2025 = £25.96 spent, 128 made and 5 mended,

@Soontobeoap can you get someone to reupholster them for you? Not sure if it is more expensive than buying new!
I have made 3 notebooks and 3 cards since getting home, so now at 30/100. I have put together some bits from on my very messy desk to make the cards, and used some pretty papers for the notebooks.

@old_fogey - Thank you lovely. I know the tiger cub is upstairs somewhere but where is the question!
I also keep looking longingly at my garden and hoping on Wednesday to order my greenhouse cover. Especially after I saw my MILs greenhouse all up and ready today. More determined to finish the garden now!
@Soontobeoap - well it was all brought in the name of charity so effectively you did a good deed by bringing all of those goodies home and well done on your tunic mending. It looks lovely and will last you a while longer now if you keep adding other flowers to it as well
@x_raphael_xx - love The Hobbit and LOTR. I am on series' at the minute. Ive watched all GOT and The walking dead so now I'm catching up on Fear The Walking Dead. I would say try watching a series. Maybe Wheel Of Time on Netflix if you like fantasy stuff or The Witcher with Henry Cavill (your welcome!)
@emsi_b - happy belated anniversary! did you go anywhere nice?
I haven't crafted today but did take the robins over to MIL who loved them.
Came home to a parcel delivery and it was 4 wooden wick candles I had ordered for my step mum for her birthday. They were in sets of 2 for £10. Opened the box to find they had been left loose in the box with no packaging and 3 had smashed to bits. Rang Asda and said I couldn't even get them out the box there was so much glass - not ideal with 3 dogs and 2 kids - so sent them pictures as proof and they issued a full refund and told me to bin them. I think not. The one intact one I will wipe over and still give to my step mum, and the other 3 - my lovely husband broke the rest of the glass off and said I can use them in a candle lantern he brought me a few years back that has a glass jar inside. They smell lovely so Im not going to waste them. So bonus for me - I got 3 free candles but I will probably give one to my sister when I see her this week.
Trying to decide on next craft and have been looking at my Pyrography set that husband brought me for Christmas and an off cut of wood that he had left over from a project so I think I am going to try and burn the word coats into the wood and then I will buy some hooks so I can get them all hung up in the hallway rather than left in piles everywhere. It will end up looking rustic but I quite like that! Just need to decide on a font now!
Time to find me again5
