Wow everyone has been so busy. Absolutely love your christmas runner @daisy_1571. I love Christmas. Was a lot of it done on machine? I have made my daughter, daughter in law and myself patchwork bed covers but have not got a machine for quilting. Hope to make Granddaughters one each for christmas with some aplique on but lots of other bits to finish/do first.
@Katiehound the shopping bag looks great. A very practical gift. Did you also make the beautiful crochet blanket /throw underneath?
@plumduff, your waistcoat looks very proffessional. I have never got on with knitting. Always dropping stitches and gaining big holes! 🤦♀️. I cant wait to see your finished baby quilt.
@x_raphael_xx i must try and channel your patience and perseverance. I have so many unfinished projects because I give up. The only reason that I nished double bed patchwork throws is because I had promised them to my girls and used curtain/furnishing fabric which was very expensive.
I have done a bit of diamond painting today. I find it very calming and relaxing in front of the television.craft stash 2023 =161, 2024 = 119 2025 = £25.96 spent, 128 made and 5 mended,

@daisy_1571 here's pics of the two Xmas table runners I've done. The first I've sewn lots of machine stitching of Christmas shapes. But it was before I had done any free motion quilting. I did it with ordinary straight stitching and I had to keep turning the fabric all the time. It took me hours and boy did I have sore shoulders. The second one I did for my son. The grandkids picked their own fabric and the presents were placed where they sat at the table. I love getting the ideas on here.Debt free - Mortgage free - Work free ( in that order

Wow they are fabulous pd, love them. I wasn't brave enough to do more than some stitching the ditch. I'll work up to that but to do it without the free motion...wow. well done

Hi @daisy_1571. I used a machine to sew the squares and triangles together but my machine is at least 40yrs old and just does very basic stuff. Wouldnt know how to begin quiling and pretty surevi couldnt do it with my machine. 🤔. .craft stash 2023 =161, 2024 = 119 2025 = £25.96 spent, 128 made and 5 mended,

@Soontobeoap older machines are usually better for quilting - they cope with the layers much better than newer machines sometimes. What machine do you have?Chipping away at the craft stash one item at a time

Oh my goodness. This forum is lethal😂😂😂 My wee butterfly brain is going "ooh so many other things I can try!" You folks are amazing. I must remain focused!
For accountability I am trying to complete a crocheted elephant head. Saw it in our local Hobby craft about 4 years ago, started it 2 years ago and keep putting it down. I will finish it before the summer - hopefully!2023 Frugal Living Challenge

Oh my goodness you ladies are bad influences.
@x_raphael_xx the cross stitch is beautiful and I'm sure it will look incredible once its done. Well done on your progress.
@daisy_1571 love the runner you've made. It looks amazing and I can feel myself resisting temptation to have a go at this. I will be good though as I am still eyeing up my latest box of purchases until I've used up some other craft bits.
@Katiehound the bags look lovely. and very practical as well!
@plumduff55 Glad to hear you are feeling better and on the mend after your bug. well done on starting the waistcoat. I love the stitching and the colour. The table runners you have made are beautiful too. Can I ask did you buy material or are they fat quarters? I always look at them in HC and never get any ideas what to do with them but if I went with a purpose then I think Id just get lost in the designs.
@Soontobeoap I love diamond painting too. I find it therapeutic and usually do it when I'm listening to a podcast....bizarrely usually about stranger murders......
I didn't do any crafting last night as I was in a bit of a grump with my husbands bad mood and just wanted to go to bed - and plans today to get in the garden have been scuppered by the welsh weather so today I have housework to get on with this morning - mainly sorting out a mountain of clean washing that's not taking over my room - and then I may spend the afternoon crafting or cross stitching.Time to find me again5 -
@sammy_kaye18 I've collected the Christmas fabrics over years and mostly bought as fat quarters. I've no nice fabric shops local to me so buy on my twice yearly visits to the Creative Craft Exhibition in Glasgow. I also buy fabric from eBay - I just search for cotton fat quarter bundles Christmas. When I'm busy in my sewing room I'm always listening or watching serial killer and sci fi audiobooks and films. Seems crazy creating lovely things while listening to horrific murder scenes 😳.
@Katiehound Sewing bags is a great way to use up your fabric. I'm fascinated by your crochet work underneath the bag. Is it just a long row of chain stitches. I'm really enjoying doing my little bit of crochet each day. My January square will be finished today.
@Stashbuster Your dress is lovely. Makes me think I need to start busting my dressmaking fabrics.
Happy crafting xxDebt free - Mortgage free - Work free ( in that order)
