I'm a member of the U3A I only go to a weekly dance class. My Mum attends a dance class, language class, Tai Chi, qigong and goes on various trips. As well as do lots of things not through the U3A, I don't know where she finds the time and energy.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

Morning all, almost Friday.
WFH again today.
Will need to leave the house at 8.30 to walk to the vets for 9.30. Mr SA isn't best pleased about having to get up 'early' 😆I could do without it but she's only got 12 tablets left so it needs to be done. The weather looks like it's going to be ok for our trip thankfully as the storm warning is from 8pm onwards.
I have a few things I need to pick up from BnM and also pick up the old cat's flea treatment from her vets. I might drop off the soft plastics at the big Mr T as we pass it on the way - this will save me a job on Saturday when the pavements might be slippery. Trying to cram as many bits as I can into one journey.
Today's exercise is walking to/from the vets (an hour each way), a lunchtime live strength training class, yoga challenge day 8 and live Zumba at 5.15.
Tonight's dinner will be something from freezer stocks.

3.5 hours that trip took! I couldn't believe it when we got home and it was almost 12, we left the house at 8.30.
The dog has got to lose weight. I've already cut down her food intake but Mr SA gives her things when I'm not around. I've told him he must stop doing this. Just lately he's got lazy about taking her out for her afternoon trips to the park and the dog can be equally lazy if you let her.
The vet pot has taken a hit again with the consultation fee, the prescription fee and the medication. The vet said if the dog loses some weight she might be able to come off the medication.
Had a successful trip to BnM and got everything ticked off my list.
Mr SA insisted on his Gr£ggs coffee so I picked up the free steak bake while I was there. I've now got a code for a free coffee and it's not me who has anything from there I've just got the app 😆I've told Mr SA I'll download the app on his phone so he can treat himself to the odd coffee and bacon roll as long as he's not there every day, although I'd be surprised if he can get his head around how to use it, he's terrible with technology.
The storm is set to hit us later. The sky looks full of snow already!I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)7 -
Hope the storm isn't too bad for you. It's chucking down rain here but is forecast to for the next fortnight so might as well get used to it 😁2

Two weeks of rain ☹️ Pouring down here too but they’re still forecasting snow.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2

Happy Friday everyone.
We had some snow overnight but it hasn't really settled because of the heavy rain last night. I decided to venture out to the office, my road was very slushy and slippery so I caught the bus into the city centre. No trace of snow in the city centre and it's pouring down at the minute.
I'm planning to work until lunchtime then call it a day. I've got the hairdressers later and I need to stop off at Lid! on the way home first.
DD has paid her board so that's gone into the holiday pot.
Today's exercise is walking to/from the bus stop then home from work, a 15 minutes strength training session and 10 minutes yoga day 9. Unfortunately I won't make it home on time for the new Friday afternoon Zumba class, I think this is one I might have to miss some weeks.
Tonight's dinner is stir fry.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)9 -
Our walking groups do a car share scheme where we meet in town and one driver takes the others for a nominal fee to cover fuel so being a non driver does not necessarily mean you cannot participate in them. The U3A walking group is one of these.Sun_Addict said:
A women only gym wouldn't make any difference to him escorting me there and/or meeting me afterwards. There are walking groups but the walks tend to be in places where you need a car to get there first before you do the walking.Makingabobor2 said:On the subject of gyms Are there any " women only" gyms in your area? Or even groups for different things thar are women only, that Mr SA couldn't join you.
In our area we have a weekly walking group, which goes through a wooded common, totally unsuitable for mobility scooters. Do you have anything like that?
I know this sounds like I'm making excuses for everything but I'm being realistic.
I have a few ideas of things to do that he wouldn't be interested in such as U3A and proper Spanish lessons. I'll still have regular meet ups with friends too, some who have already retired and a few who will be retiring soon.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards.
