So glad DS is going to help with the loft. I am finally trying to completely empty mine as my DS does not do ladders & being 69 days from my extra 25p state pension I worry that one day I may find I no longer can. I moved here from a much larger house & I still have stuff up there from when I moved in over 30 years ago.4

DD has officially been diagnosed with autism and ADHD today, next step is getting the medication which I believe takes some time. So that's both her and DGS with the same diagnosis.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)9

The NAS do a great webinar/e-learning on ASD in girls. I did it a couple of years ago after working with boys for about 15 years. I learned a lot and it led to me getting an assessment for my adult sister. I've recommended it to a few people I work with, it's pretty short and pretty easy, but it really made me realise how differently it can present in girls compared to boys. You probably know it all already, but it might still be useful to suggest to others who might be able to support her in better ways.Debts 04/01/25 02/01/26

I believe neurodiversity often runs in families - and it can look different in each person. I'm as sure as I can be that both DH and I are ADHD with autism and I was offered an assessment. I wish now that I'd taken them up on it but I thought I'd leave the place in the queue for a younger person who still has their battles ahead of them. I turned it down too, because I was afraid I would be told I didn't 'qualify' and would lose my tribe - but the evidence seems to be that I have some quite strong traits and I've found this understanding has been really helpful. I hope your DD finds just the same. Medication or not, knowing that there's an actual physical reason for struggles you face can be very liberating. That's not an excuse, but a reason, and once I understood it wasn't me being inadequate, I was able to find accommodations that helped me.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. Afternoon all.
Worked in the office until lunchtime, finishing up at home. I had to get the bus this morning as the pavements were treacherous. The snow has mostly thawed now but it's forecast again for tonight and tomorrow.
I walked home and stopped off at Lid! on the way for the rest of the things I couldn't manage yesterday. I also picked up a free muffin for Mr SA. There are a few other things I need but they can wait until Friday or next week if need be. Treated myself to the first bunch of daffodils of the year for 99p. Daffodils are my favourite flowers.
The work light has arrived and it's very bright so will be great in the loft and if I need to pop out to the outside freezer in the dark. It also acts as an emergency power bank. I'll need to give it a good charge before Saturday.
Today's exercise so far has been 13,000 steps despite catching the bus. It's a fair walk from my house to the bus stop then from the city centre bus stop to work then there was the walk home. After work I'll do day 6 of the 10 mins yoga challenge and it's live resistance bands at 6.15.
Tonight's dinner is a leftover portion of the aubergine and chickpea stew I made on Sunday. Very thankful this week for having quick heat up leftovers yesterday and today, my two busiest days of the week.

I can understand the at home classes when you are working but I found when I retired I wanted to get out of the house and particularly for you with a very needy and clingy spouse you may find it better to go to a gym. I love mine and am down there probably around 5 times a week as it is a social outlet and I often go for coffees/lunch after classes or a trip up the gym or swim/spa.Sun_Addict said:We do have a gym nearby that I belonged to for years pre Covid. To be honest I prefer the live at home classes now but I haven’t ruled out going back once I’ve retired.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. The medication may help but it sometimes takes a while to find one that suits. Both my DD1 and DGD1 have been diagnosed with Autism and ADHD. DD1 takes medication and does find it helps. There is definitely a genetic link. Hope your DD gets on ok with the medication but yes it takes a while to get it. I think the general explosion of those being diagnosed with it has led to drug shortages.Sun_Addict said:DD has officially been diagnosed with autism and ADHD today, next step is getting the medication which I believe takes some time. Happy New Year SA! I've finally caught up with your diary after re-starting it from September!
Congratulations on finishing your mortgage and it's been interesting reading your retirement plans. I retired as soon as I was eligible for my State Pension - I waited that long so that it supplemented my private pensions.Your DS's wedding looked lovely and so unusual. And as for Mr SA? Well I can only echo your other posters in bowing down to you in admiration of all that you do and manage, especially as he has not been easy these last few months v❤️
However I must say that his kleptomania in the charity shop did make me laugh!😂
