The Christmas fayre was lovely. So many stalls full of great things from local people. All Mr SA was interested in was the bar 😐 I treated DGS to the kids bouncy castle play area which was £5 for 30 minutes, he was bored and came out after 15 minutes 😐 It was quite funny in there though as it was full of over over exuberant boys bouncing off the sides of the bouncy castle. So much energy!I sort of regretted buying DIL’s Christmas present yesterday as there were a few things I thought she’d like. There were some really lovely things. In the end I didn’t buy anything from the stalls but spent a fair bit at the bar buying drinks for everyone. You could take dogs but we left ours at home which was just as well as there were quite a few dogs there and it was very busy so she would’ve found it overwhelming.I’m thinking about taking Friday off to start on the painting. I’m determined to get it done this coming weekend. I’ve watched a couple of YT tutorials on painting so am now a fully qualified painter 🤣🤣 I thought I could do the cutting in (painter speak courtesy of YT 😆) on Friday, the walls on Saturday and the gloss on Sunday.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5

Afternoon all.
Worked in the office until lunchtime, finishing up at home.
Dropped off 4 items for the work foodbank this morning.
Worth checking the JL app as I got a free mini bottle of Molton Brown body wash today which I picked up on the way home.
Usual stop off at Lid! on the way home.
The new 4 week budget period starts today and there was an underspend of £128.98 in the last budget period. £39.39 of which was an underspend on food.
The oddment of £8.98 went to the Christmas 2026 pot, £30 to the stock up shop pot, £50 to the house pot and £40 to the entertainment pot.
CC balance paid off in full. Money transferred from savings pots to cover Christmas etc spends over the last few days.
After reconciling the current account an oddment of £6.61 arose which was sent to the Christmas 2026 pot.
Today's exercise: walking to/from work, Rick's advent challenge day 8, aerobics at 6 and strength training at 7.15.
Tonight's dinner is a portion of veg chilli from freezer stocks with a baked sweet potato and salad.
I've booked Friday off work so I can commence with the painting. People at work are dropping like flies with the current nasty bug doing its rounds so keeping my fingers crossed I avoid it as I really want to get this painting done.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)6 -
It might be a good idea to at least investigate to find out how things would work - to get your "name in the frame" as much as anything, The risk with leavings it until things get past the point of no return is that without any prior contact, there will be an expectation that you can manage for a bit longer, I suspect...Sun_Addict said:@Cherryfudge that would be worth keeping a note of to see if a pattern emerges. For myself it seems to be around the time I feel optimistic and getting things sorted he starts playing up. A lot of this will be he was quite controlling prior to his brain tumour and he’ll hate the loss of control.@Humdinger1 I was given a list of contacts should I need them. I’ve already been given the option of respite care should I need it. Social services are so stretched that whether anything would actually happen is another matter. If you are perceived by them as coping they really aren’t bothered. I used to have a carers assessment once a year over the phone but this service has gone now.
