It is a shame you cannot be open about doing perfectly normal things without interference from Mr SA. Enjoy your afternoon with your friends.
Using the reverse psychology approach can you not mention a task Mr SA could safely do which would be helpful for you and instead of asking him to do it tell him he must definitely not tackle it in the hope he goes against you?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. Booking the day off is a great idea - you will benefit no end. Mr SA's antics must be endlessly wearing. I think he's after control and doesn't like to be told he can't have things, but from what you've said, too much beer can be a problem. Perhaps you could 'forbid' him to clean the windows or hang out the washing, and see if that gets you anywhere?
Anyway I hope you can have a really nice time out and about.

@Sun_Addict I hate to say this but think your tether might be coming to.its end. As you say, if it carries on like this, you won't be able to carry on. If you collapse, a solution will be found that Mr SA won't like but what's the option? Can you talk to a social worker or anyone else before it gets to that point? Retirement is going to be a crunch point. Please tell me to mind my own business. Love Humdinger xx5

Thank you all I really do appreciate your support ❤️
I had a lovely catch up with my friends.Afterwards I went to pick up the free weekend paper from Waitr0se then popped in TKM and bought some fancy shampoo/conditioner as part of DD’s Christmas present. When I got home Mr SA had put some fairy lights along the fence in the drive. However I suspect the next door neighbour had helped as they were very neat and by coincidence his outside lights are also up. I ended up hiding the paint just in case.@Humdinger1 you’re right it can’t carry on like this. I’ve warned him about it before but he seems to be oblivious and thinks the whole world revolves around him and his needs, stuff everyone else.@enthusiasticsaver and @Cherryfudge I so wish that would work 🤣
@beanielou I booked the day off in the end so will enjoy it all to myself 🙂I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5 -

She won’t unfortunately. The phase pays lip service springs to mind. You’ve just reminded me of an old diary member on here from way back called step up to the plate. I often wonder about the ‘regulars’ who stopped posting.beanielou said:I mean Mr SA's sister needs 'to step up to the plate' as my dad said.. This might sound crazy but Mr SA’s behaviour gets worse around the time of a full moon. When he was in hospital and he’d had a night where he’d been particularly challenging for the nursing staff to the point where they were considering a straitjacket, a nurse who had previously worked with seriously mentally ill patients said the moon affected people who had brain issues. I guess this is where the word lunatic stems from. And lo and behold last night it was a super moon. Makes you wonder…I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5

This is exactly what I was thinking. Isn’t it strange? I’ve noticed it before with him.greenbee said:Every medic I know who has done a rotation on a psychiatric ward says the same SA.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)3
