Great progress on the loft etc. Fantastic about the mortgage!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee1

Morning all.
WFH today, working from the dining room table. It's a bit of a kerfuffle but I'll manage, it's only for one day.
It won't be a NSD as I'll have to pay the builder. I've booked an appointment for a local firm to measure up for a blind for my office tomorrow afternoon. I'll make sure I paint the window area first before the blind is fitted.
BnQ wanted to deliver my order tomorrow but as we'll be out until lunchtime I've moved it to Thursday.
Mr SA has woken up feeling poorly. He thinks it might be connected to the shock of his fall on Sunday. I hope he's better for tomorrow as I just want to get his eye test and trip to the city centre over and done with.
Today's exercise will be dog walking later this morning, a lunchtime Rick advent challenge day 2 and resistance bands tonight.
Tonight's dinner is a stir fry using up veg from fridge stocks.

Great progress on both the house and the mortgage!
I hope Mr SA recovers quickly. If I were you I'd hide the loft pole permanently - even ask your DS to look after it so it's only in the house if he comes over to help you. From what you've told us, Mr SA goes looking for things he's been told he can't have. I wonder if one of those magnetic child locks could be used with the loft hatch so no amount of fiddling with tools attached to a mop handle would budge it?
That said, our loft hatch and ladder is a huge improvement on the old step ladder. The only thing I'd change is a loft light on a sensor so I don't discover the light's been left on by the glow in the middle of the night!I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

The building work is done. The new window looks so much better, I'm really pleased with it.
I'm a bit disappointed that the loft is in a worse state than I thought although not surprised. I suppose it could be chipped away at gradually.
Mr SA can't be that bad as he's been in the charity shop again and today's purchase is a bum bag. He's now going on and on about a coat he saw in there so no doubt that will be making an appearance shortly.
One thing we do need is a new shed. It's been at the back of my mind for a while and highlighted when I went down there to put Mr SA's wheelchair in earlier. There's a local company that supply and put them together for a reasonable price. If they could take down the old one that would be even better. I'd like to have the conifer removed that's between the shed and the border with next door as I can't get to it to trim it, although it's not that high for a conifer just a bit higher than the shed. Probably a job for next Spring.
It's never ending...I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5 -
Yes, agree, Mr SA can't be that bad if he's been out. I haven't been out for 3 days, apart from in the garden. Just having a shower and stripping the bed was enough for me today. Maybe he was just after some sympathyMaking the debt go down and savings go up
