Ordered 6 bags of fancy gravel, 2 bags of cheap gravel for bottoms of plant pots and filling in a hole and 2 bags of sand from the local builders merchants. It came to £48.80 with free delivery tomorrow.

Gosh it was hot out there! Not really a day for walking up the steep hills in our area.

This means I can crack on with the garden this weekend.

Mr SA still isn't 'with it' but then it's hard to tell the difference as he's often like this when he hasn't had sedation 😆

I must admit to laughing at Mr SA insisting on accompanying you to the builders merchants. You'll have to stock up on smelling salts just in case you need to pop in without him sometime and overtax your lady brain or glimpse a man

The posh gravel was only £5 for a decent sized bag. I was pleasantly surprised although I’ve bought it from there before. Would probably be a lot more in BnQ. Had to rein in the bloke in the shop as he seemed to think because I’m female I didn’t know what I wanted and said was I looking for pink gravel 😐 I put him back in his box and we had a bit of a laugh after that.

Afternoon all, happy Friday 🎉

Worked in the office this morning, WFH this afternoon.

Treated myself to a cold brew tea starter kit from a tea shop on the way home. It was expensive but has come out of my personal spends master pot. I've been looking at it for a while but the price was putting me off. I called in the shop and they let me taste a few samples which were really nice so decided to go for it. I love fancy tea so this is right up my street. The first brew is in the fridge, it takes 4-6 hours to brew.

Mr SA met me at Lid! to take the shopping from me.

Today's freebies: free Gr£ggs coffee as I'd earned one on the app and a free rosemary focaccia from Lid!

Try It sent me half a loaf of bread to test yesterday so set Mr SA a task to use it for his breakfast this morning. He has declared it too heavy/doughy and it upset his stomach so it's a no from him. I don't eat sliced bread very often so will try and sample a bit tomorrow just so it's a fair judgement for the feedback.

Gravel/sand have been delivered. Mr SA told them to leave it at the bottom of the drive so had to move it to the back of the house.

Today's exercise has been walking to/from work and Zumba this afternoon.

Money-wise, end of the week finance check done and an oddment of £9.24 has gone to the Christmas pot. Got the monthly 🐙statement and we are just over £500 in credit so far which is a useful buffer for winter bills.

Tonight's dinner is another new recipe from the G00d F00d app - creamy butterbean spaghetti.

I'm finally at the hairdressers at 5pm for the haircut rescheduled from 2 weeks ago. My fringe is desperate to be cut I look like the Dulux dog 😆

I’m interested to hear more about the cold brew tea. I’m a tea-lover but have switched to decaf only in recent years. It was only when I switched off the normal tea to decaf when pregnant and then switching back that I realised how it was affecting me physically. Far more than I would’ve expected! (Headaches, racing heart and stomach ache). I don’t touch it now but do enjoy a fruit tea occasionally and a peppermint tea every evening.

I used to buy the cold brew tea bags a few years ago but they seemed to disappear off the shelves. I don't drink normal tea just fruit/herbal ones but I do like coffee. However I can only drink a maximum of two cups of coffee a day and they have to be in the morning, if I ever have a third coffee or an afternoon one I always regret it. I'm looking forward to trying the ones I bought today, I could choose 4 flavours to go in the starter kit.

Bird & Blend do some amazing flavours. I used to have them regularly when I worked in an office. I seem to have stopped making them now I work from home more, I'm not sure why.
