Thank you all for your nice comments 😊 Mr SA doesn’t really venture down there because it’s up a few steps and it’s red hot as there’s no shade. It’s my little escape area. It’s really quiet down there as there’s nothing behind it, just birds singing and the occasional rumble of planes taking off/landing in the distance.

I got the espresso machine and the coffee bean grinder in black from Lid! 🥳 Now I need to get some coffee beans and will test it out next weekend when I have more time. Then I need to teach Mr SA how to use it 😬 Hopefully it will save money on pods in the long term.

I managed to get the house cleaned while Mr SA was having his post lunch siesta. During the free electricity hour I charged up my phone and iPad, did a load of washing, cooked lunch and roasted a butternut squash.

Picked a huge courgette that seemed to appear from nowhere and some tomatoes from the garden.

The chickpea and butternut squash curry was delicious. It was a Thai curry so made a nice change. I made two portions so have one left for Tuesday’s dinner.

Thanks to eBay stepping in I’ve been refunded for Mr SA’s clogs. It’s very strange what happened there. Once the money hits the cc it can go back to Mr SA’s spends pot. Of course this means the hunt will be on for another pair 😖

Great job on the garden, and it sounds as though the shredder was a good investment. We applied for the free hour (if it's the one as a reward for minimal electricity usage during the eclipse) but didn't get it as our hub wasn't working. I'd reported it but it didn't clear up till the next day. On the app I'd read that I'd be credited with the hour if we were offline but perhaps we'd not had enough time online for it to registered our norms. I'm encouraged to look out for the next one.

Afternoon all, happy Monday.

Worked in the office this morning, WFH this afternoon. Thankfully no more work Mondays for 3 weeks 🎉

Treated myself to a Gr£ggs coffee on the way to work.

The new 4 week budget period started today so the last budget period has been closed off. Had a underspend of £42.47 in the groceries pot so £40 has gone to the stock up pot and £2.47 to the Christmas pot. Across the other three spending pots (Mr SA, Entertainment and House) there was a combined underspend of £122.11. Oddments from these pots totalled £14.58 for the Christmas pot and the balance sent to their respective master pots. Paid off the cc balance. Another oddment of £3.11 was revealed and sent to the Christmas pot.

Stopped off at Lid! on the way home as I realised I wouldn't get another chance to go this week and I'd forgotten a few things yesterday that I'll need before I next pass it by. Picked up a free croissant for Mr SA.

The🐙app awarded me a free kinder bar from the C0-0p which again is of no use to me but Mr SA will benefit. Apparently the Gr£ggs app is going to give me a free sweet treat for my birthday. I don't want all these sweet things I just want a free black coffee 😞

Today's exercise has been walking to/from work, live strength training at 7.15 and live yoga/meditation at 8pm.

Tonight's dinner is another new recipe from the GF app spiced prawn tacos with avocado lime crema, although I'm subbing tofu for the prawns. This was on last week's meal plan but I left the avocado in the basket in Lid! 🤦‍♀️

Have ordered some currency for our upcoming short break and this will generate a £5 reward voucher.
