Have a lovely weekend!
I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
The sun's been out and I think I’m solar powered (Onebrokelady)

Make it a fantabulous weekend xx
2026's challenges: 1) To rebuild our Emergency Fund to at least £5k.
2) To read 50 books (12/50) 3) The Re-Shrinking of Foxgloves 8.1kg/30kg
Remember....if you have to put it on a credit card, extend your overdraft or take out a loan to buy whatever it is, you probably can't afford it, as that's not your money, it's somebody else's!3 -
Thanks all. So far I’ve made two coffees with the new machine fairly successfully but need more practice. The first one didn’t have a crema because I didn’t pack the coffee down enough but the second one did. I can’t see Mr SA getting the hang of it though. The freshly ground coffee beans smell amazing.
Just took the dog on the park and now really must make a start on the cleaning.
Today’s exercise is dog walking (done), Zumba and strength training.
Tonight’s dinner is air fried salmon with lime and coriander rice and stir fried vegetables.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping) -.literally have been run over by a bike, mobility scooter and a car - still here 💪6 -
happy birthday weekend. I hope you get to enjoy a relaxing coffee on your hanging chair today - perhaps when MrSA has his siesta?

Aw thank you everyone. My birthday is actually on Sunday but I like to stretch it out 🤣
Managed to get a fair bit of cleaning done and focused on the dining room and hall. I gave the dining room rug a good clean too.
The painter has come back with a quote and he can start next month. I still need to buy paint so will check with him how much I need to buy, it’s never as much as I think. As the quote is less than I thought I’m assuming it doesn’t include paint. I’m going to do the woodwork, that’s something I quite enjoy doing and I have plenty of paint. Mr SA is moaning about ‘more paying out’ but can’t answer when I say so who’s going to do it then - I think he thinks I should be doing it 😐He is so out of touch with reality and the cost of things.I managed a bit of time in my hanging chair reading after lunch. It was lovely in the sunshine.
Money wise DD paid her board so that’s gone in the holiday pot, making a start on saving for the retirement celebration holiday 😎It’s also been a NSD. Received a £5 off £40 spend in Lid! so might utilise that next week and have a good stock up. Doing well with vouchers and have £60 in Mr M and £55 in Mr T so far. Combined they will cover Christmas food/drink shopping. Although I don’t spend that much in Mr T as a rule I have a Mr T credit card that I use for everything then clear IN FULL 😆I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping) -.literally have been run over by a bike, mobility scooter and a car - still here 💪4 -
Do you think once you've retired there is any way of Mr SA adjusting to there being less money coming in?
Will his personal spends be able to stay the same in a way that is fair to you and to saving for future care needs of him being an older adult?
