I think I said a few days ago I'd been unable to register with the work pension portal and had been advised to give Cr@pita a call. I was dreading how long I'd be on hold for but was very pleasantly surprised that my call was answered pretty quickly. Anyway they've identified the issue and have re-set my account so I'm going to try again to register this afternoon. I just want to see how much I've got in my pension pot that's all, although it appears there might be an issue with actually viewing anything once you're in the portal so we shall see.

I've got a call with Pension Wise at the end of next month and want to get some advice on taking my state pension when it becomes due next year and dropping my hours at work until Cr@pita have sorted themselves out - I've heard that this may be next summer! I was thinking of retiring around end of May time so might have to extend by a few weeks although working fewer hours would ease the blow. I'm on a work group thread for people who are about to retire and could pose the question on there I suppose.

I wish I could have a sensible conversation with Mr SA. I was telling him all the above and he looked like he was listening only for him to respond by asking me if I'd seen his necklace 😞

I don't have anyone to discuss these things sensibly with either SA. The dog and cat look at me as though they are interested, but I suspect they're just interested in the treat budget. Although they may be less irritating than Mr SA as at least I don't expect them to understand!

Morning all.

We finally have proper rain here, never thought I'd be glad to say that! Of course like when I bought my summer raincoat we didn't have rain for weeks, the change of the weather is because I bought the cold brew tea kit - and probably because I have a long weekend off 🤣 I'm still enjoying the cold brew tea though.

I'm a bit cross with £vri as they were due to deliver a parcel yesterday and kept updating the delivery time. Our usual courier is very good and I suspect she's on holiday. It still hadn't arrived when I went to bed just after 9 so assumed it would be delivered the next day. When my alarm went off at 4.30 I checked my emails and it said the parcel had been delivered just after 10pm with a photo of the box on my doormat. I quickly got out of bed and thankfully it was still there although the box was wet. Fortunately nobody untoward must've been passing last night as this box was in full view of the road although a good way down the drive. The normal courier always hides packages behind the bins if we don't go to the door.

WFH today so after the parcel panic had a nice relaxing start to the day.

Exercise plan is yoga, dog walking, strength training and Zumba.

Tonight's dinner is a portion of vegan roast from freezer stocks with sweet potato and lots of steamed veg.

I was looking at the new coffee machine this morning and I'll be amazed if Mr SA gets the hang of it as there are a few steps to using it like warming up the machine first and making sure the coffee is packed properly. We had a machine similar to this years ago but that was pre brain damage. We will see!

I was lucky when I decided to take early retirement as my OH is a trustee on his companies pensions board and sorted all my stuff out and when best to go. He doesn’t work in pensions but works in finance.

Our usual £vri driver is lovely, if we ever have issues it’s always when he is on holiday.

Day 1 of my birthday long weekend. Definitely not doing anything exciting but as DD is working today I’m going to get the cleaning out of the way.

I’m going to have a go with the new coffee machine too.
